Morning my lovely family....now I’m not going to beat about the bush....LOOK WHAT I’VE GOT!!! When Daddycav asked me what I wanted for my birthday, well, it wasn’t a new hairdryer, or perfume, or jewellery...I knew straight away that I wanted a better running watch...(who is this woman that stares back at me in the mirror?!) Dont get me wrong, I love my fitbit and I’ll always have a soft spot for it as it’s been with me throughout my running journey and it’s witnessed, and recorded, the highs and the lows, it’s never been close to being tossed into the canal like my phone has when it’s had a mind of its own and driven me mad with tech issues, oh no, my fitbit has been as faithful as a puppy...but, time to move on. I’ve been running for a couple of years now, I’ve got a great pair of trainers and some good running kit and now after plenty of research and advice from my running friends on here and strava, I’ve got a fantastic new watch. I’ve got it a few days early, just so I can set it up....(couldn’t wait really!) I’m like a child on their birthday waiting to open their presents...! I shall report my first run with my wonderful present so watch (!) this space. Happy running in this, the last week of July...where’s the time going?!

I know Bluebirdrunner , he’s a gem...as soon as he asked what I’d like it as there! Thank you for my birthday wishes, I was in France last time flying in a hot air balloon...the best worst thing I’ve ever done! This year I will prob be doing park run with my trusty new watch x
Ooooooh 😍. What a great bday present! Daddycav did well! I can't wait to see how you get on with it. I'm thinking this winter, my bday/Christmas present might need to be a new running watch. I've been looking at this one, as well as the 235. Garmin sent me an email yesterday (so timely) and it got me looking even closer at their 45/245 now. I like how it (and I believe the vivoactive) is compatible with the Garmin coach which has an interactive training plan with the choice of 3 coaches that adjusts with your training. Please do let us know how you get on with it 💕
Yes, it has lots of features SaskAlliecat , I really think you would love it and I haven’t even taken it out for a spin yet but I love it already! I will post about my maiden voyage when I get a chance to go xx
Wooh hooo Mummycav!! What a great gift 🤩! Plus a few days early? Well you certainly deserve it 🤗! Enjoy and have a wonderful birthday when it comes too! 🏃🏼♀️😁❤️
Now that is what I call a present Mummycav. You will knock off a minute per run immediately with the sheer joy of wearing it! Just mind you don't run into the canal through staring at your wrist as you run. I am guessing it is waterproof, just in case. Happy near birthday 😊😊
Thanks Beachcomber66 , I’m hoping for many, many wonderful miles with my new friend! Haha, it will be hard not to be staring at it when I’m running so I’d better watch my step! And yes, it’s waterproof just incase I take an unexpected dip! 😂
Same watch as me - it's a cracking piece of kit 🙂 I hope you like yours as much as I like mine. Great battery life, simple to use, can store music, and is compatible with Garmin's training plans. Enjoy!
Thanks Thecko , good to hear from someone with the same watch and sounds like you love it? It def has some great features, it will seem very strange not having to take my phone with me for music! And the training plans are such a good idea 👍🏼
Yey! And another one with the same watch who sounds like she likes it too!! I am hoping that I will have many happy runs with it and looking forward to trying out the training plans etc
Aw thank you Fishypieface , always good to hear from you...anything to motivate and help along the way eh? Thankyou for my birthday wishes too...think I’ll celebrate with a parkrun, a piece of cake and a toast to all my running friends xxx
