I’ve seen the expression “jeffing” a few times on the forums. What does it mean?

Thank you, mw. I thought it might just mean plodding but I’m wiser now and will look it up. 🤔

It's named after Jeff Galloway, jeffing refers to run/walking at different lengths for various reasons for runners wih various disabilities or training to run, in fact I suppose a little like the early runs and weeks of C25K.

Thank you Al. No parkrun for you last Saturday?

Very annoying, I went to Dunfermline yesterday but it was raining, its not the rain that stops me running but if I get very wet running I would be sitting on a bus on the way home with soaking wet clothes and might be shivering and get a nasty cold. Next parkrun in two weeks time.

This morning to make up for yesterday's missed run I ran a 6K in 44.25, my 5K split being 36.41 according to Mapmyrun, I used my metromone app at 162 steps a minute, if it had been at 170 I would have been at the 5K split probably at equal to my PB 5K time of 32.23 but as I wanted to run a 6K I set it at a lower setting.

My sympathies, Al. I did a one way 8km 2 weeks ago and got the bus back. Only 25 minutes but I was dripping with sweat and people were edging away from me!

You’re well ahead of me running-wise Al. My PB for parkrun is 36:31 after 15 parkruns. Next week I’ll crank up the metronome to 160 which is fast for me. I suspect you’ll get to 30 minutes long before me.

Never thought how I might feel after I run a parkrun, the end of the parkrun at Dunfermline is only a 30 seconds walk from the main gate into the park, so when I finish my run I have a short rest then walk slowly up the road to where I get the bus home, hopefully I don't sweat too much by the time I get the bus, I wear the minimum of light clothing, only a T shirt, if warm a sleeveless vest, shorts, my running cap, yes that certainly makes me look like a runner, my new proper running shoes with running socks to match, no Smartphone to the Parkrun, I wait for the email result around 12.30, however, I do glance at my normal wristwatch at the start and the end of the run just to have a idea what my time might roughly be, for example I looked at my watch at the start two weeks ago and it was 9.33, at the end it was 10.08, OK I thought, at least I have a sub 40 minute 5K but didn't think it was a sub 35, so I was pleasantly pleased with my time of 34.16 sub 35, I hope you will soon also get a sub 35 minute 5K at a parkrun 😊 🏃
