....if I’m not out before 7am, I’m not going...this morning, with everything going on I thought I’d snatch a run, supposed to be my 2nd 8k but I’d already resided myself to the fact that 10am + 8k spelled disaster so I thought I’d just do a 3-4K but I got to 2k, someone had stolen the breeze from the shade & I had to stop...even Laura’s stamina podcast couldn’t keep me going...oh well, it’s 2k I wouldn’t have done if I wasn’t addicted to running & running 3 times a week!!! My 8k will either be in Paris or the Dordogne...let’s wait & see!
Happy running everyone...when will I learn?!!
Altogether now....DO NOT RUN AFTER 9AM BEV!!! 🙄🙄🙄😩😩

Bet running in Ibiza was hot?! Parkrun’s worth getting up for...but not every sat...I’m a lone runner but I do like the atmosphere & sometimes, if you’re flagging, it’s good to use the runner in fronts footsteps for pace if they’re running slow...a bit like the speed podcast without Laura’s crappy music!!
I know that heat makes such a difference. I did my run at 9.00 in 22c on Monday and my new watch was telling me to stop because my heart rate was too high. I walked the last km instead. It was 18c at 8.00 yesterday and so much easier. But at least you got out and ran a bit today. Have great hols.
It really does....& even when there’s a bit of a breeze once you start running that breeze does one!! I ran in the park on the shady side...pffft, that made no difference whatsoever!!!
Thank you Dexy...I’m looking forward to it. I’ve got a long drive tomorrow, I do all the driving because I am the best driver that’s ever lived you know...down to Folkestone then 3 hours the other side, setting off at 7am & I’m thinking...maybe I could squeeze a run in before we go?! But I’d have to be out at 3am...seriously what is wrong with me? Who actually am I??? Hahahahaha...
Mummycav, I would go as far to say DO NOT RUN AFTER 7AM! At least during a heatwave. I went out at 6:15am this morning, and it was a struggle. Like breathing soup. The humidity is at an all time high right now, and it is set to be 33 degrees in London today.
Oooh, do your 8k in Paris! That would be wonderful!
I think you’re right Sadie...7am or not at all! It really is humid, I had to stop myself joining the dogs in the stream this morning!!! 😂 The dog walkers were looking at me like I’d a screw loose!! A run in Paris would be wonderful...any run!!! And where we’re staying in the Dordogne there’s a 5k track & a 3k track so I shall be checking them out for definite....thank you my lovely running friend xxx
I think we all suffering with this weather, I've done one very hard 5k this week that felt like 15k and due to being busy could not get out again before 7am so have not been. Seriously thinking about tucking the running shoes away until I after I get back from hoilday end of next week... this is just not running weather
You’re so right orangeguy...the dreadmill at the gym has flashed into my mind too...😬..I’ve never run on a dreadmill before, I’ve walked quickly on one while the person next to me has been proper pounding away & that put me off...
Never fancied a treadmill either... a big part of the enjoyment for me is being outside. I will see tomorrow morning but if not I think if I miss a week and a half its not the end of the world. Take care out there in the heat.
I'm just thinking about Parkrun tomorrow. I enjoyed it so much last week, but it's mid-afternoon for me, 9am. I usually run at 5:30am. Scary, not sure what to do.
At least Keswick Parkrun is completely in the shade. Dither.......
