I could tell that my running shoes needed replacing because they had lost some of their bounce and were not absorbing my pounding the pavements so well. That was about 9 months in, through couch to 5k and bridge to 10k. The tread on midsole had worn down. The length of time will depend on weight and running technique. But this is what the Brooks website says :
"We stand behind our products and we want to make sure you have what you need to Run Happy!
Did you know Running Shoes have a life expectancy of 300 to 500 miles, or three to six months? Our PureProject shoes, with their lightweight materials, last from 250 to 300 miles. Bearing this in mind, if you believe your product is not performing due to a defect, please contact a Customer Service Rep."
The advice is to get a new pair of shoes before the old ones run out and alternate until you think the old ones have had it.
Happy running.

I’ve seen guidance that says change at 200-300 miles and another which said 500 miles. I suppose you will know when they are absolutely knackered, I.e. the bottom sole is completely worn, no grip and obvious signs of wearing away
