I just finished my 5k morning run..still 25 degrees ...6am...i am glad i did it after my woorying last few days, last Thursday evening 2 hours after my run i blacked out, so Sunday of to the doctor i went..sent me to A+E ...sent me to heart department.low heart beat rate..worry now starts to raise his head...after a night stay and a few tests..they came back with the answer....You idiot....drink more water after you run...turns out i was dehydrated..i have only been running since March and am still learning how to adapt...here in Israel its hot now..40 degrees...please take this as a warning for your present heatwave....DRINK DRINK DRINK..happy running to you all.

You poor thing smee, but great that the answer was so simple. Those of us that did c25k last spring went straight into a hot summer and learnt very quickly about the need for sufficient water and adding electrolyte tablets. I now fill a one litre jug and drink from that so I can keep an eye on my consumption.

Don’t just drink lots before your run, do it everyday as part of your lifestyle . I believe there is a pinned post from the mentors about prevention on the forum, but this is nhs advice on dehydration for anyone who wants more info.

That’s a little scary but glad it’s nothing more serious.

Beautiful photo!

Can’t imagine getting out the door in 40C! So glad it all proved to be something you can remedy. And a gorgeous photo. Been to Israel years ago and loved the land everywhere - but we were there in April. Take care & keep sipping. 😊

Oh wow smeeagain, that must have been scary but how lucky it was something so simple to rectify. πŸ‘ Keep drinking that water and say cool if you can. We’re having a heatwave here in the UK too. I’m dialling back my distances and sticking to relaxed runs only until it breaks. πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅
