I think a full geek would lay out parkrun kit on a Thursday evening! In any case, better than remembering at 8.30 on Saturday 😧
If I start putting out my running gear on a Thursday night for parkrun my wife will leave me. She already thinks I’m nuts as she heard me refer to Friday as parkrun eve. 😂😂😂🤓🤓🤓
Enjoy your parkrun tomorrow Damien, perhaps you will get a PB, I am not running one tomorrow but will be running next Saturday 27th July.
NENDY stands for Nearest Event Not Done Yet. So that’s what I’m doing tomorrow morning, some parkrun tourism to do my NENDY with my 10 years old Son. Nice 28-29 minute 5k, no PB attempt and of course breakfast in a local Cafe afterwards.
When I was checking Parkrun cancellations recently, I noticed that Dunfermline have a cancellation soon but can't remember which date... You might just want to double check, AlMorr.
There were two recent cancellations at Dunfermline, on the 22 of June and the 6th July, those cancellations were due to special events taking place in the park, as far as I know, there are no further cancellations due, I would get a notification if there was as Dunfermline is my home parkrun.
I just had a look at the Portrush Parkrun, it's a beach along the side of the sea that the run takes place, if its high tide, the runners are actually running in the sea on some parts of the course. 😊 🏃
Wow, that sounds amazing, off to Google Portrush Parkrun... And just checked the Parkrun cancellation because it was bugging me - it's the 3 August one,due to a "Defend Fife" event!
Thanks for that information Debston, I wasn't going to run on that particular day..
I keep checking the Parkrun site to see if they have added one nearer to Applecross which is where I am staying in Scotland in August... The nearest one looks to be hours away so I don't think I will be able to fulfil my dream of doing a Scottish Parkrun on holiday.
I’m a 55 year old middle aged woman geek. Full member. 🤓
Great eh.... I still put my gear out the night before any run and get excited tummy bump butterflies when I do it
It's wonderful!
I’m the same, but only for races or new Parkruns. I get very excited, I’m like a kid going on a School tour.😂
I love this forum. Everyone’s nuts! Me too.
I am an aspiring geek, not sure I run well enough to qualify just yet 🙃
I have finally registered for parkrun, so who knows, this time next year I might actually do one😊
😂 It took me about 3 years from registration and I SO wish I had gone sooner. Give it a go!
I always put my barcode wristband on on a Friday
Occasionally, like now, with all the enthusiasm that folk have for parkrun I do look again at where they are near me, but the social anxiety aside they are all a half hour drive with rather dull courses... maybe I should try to start my own! 🤣🤣
I’ve just realised I’m a geek too. I was supposed to go to my grandsons birthday party tomorrow morning so had to miss Parkrun but my daughter told me I didn’t have to come! OMG I had to try really hard not to look deliriously happy as I realised I could do Parkrun after all. And I don’t even care that it’s likely to be in a thunderstorm! Mad. 😂
I understand totally KR! Tomorrow is my daughter’s baby shower and it’s being held at our house ....... luckily I have time to do PR first! I was mildly panicky at first! 😅😅
Haha. Totally understand!!
I'm going away tomorrow and debating if I can squeeze In parkrun before!! 😂
Enjoy it
Happy running 🏃
Ps I don't really know how this happened to me!!
We are travelling to a lunchtime family bbq in a few weeks. I'm already thinking 'I will be able to fit parkrun in first, won't I?!😀🦆
Haha I know that feeling well :). Saturday is my favourite day of the week because it is long run day!
Hello Decker. My long run day is Sunday morning at 8am. I sometimes meet up with a run group and do about 10 to 12k. ( short run to you 😀). I’ve agreed to play Tennis after my run on Sunday, think I might have bitten off more than I can chew.

Haha don’t worry! I have been thinking about Parkrun all day 😊
Good luck everyone! It will be slightly unusual running in cooler conditions, I am rather looking forward to it x
It’s 5:55 and I’m awake thinking about this morning’s parkrun!! I need help!!!! 🤓
Just cycling off to my park run ....its my 49th .... getting nervous. I find putting putting on my socks marked L and R helps concentrate the mind ! Go enjoy your runs 😊
Enjoy your arbitrary 49th parkrun. Next week will be your milestone 50th. Exciting.

You lot have got me wondering if I should try our local park run .. anyone here from Chippenham?
I’m a fully paid up member of this exciting club, just did Letchworth today (my number 10 and 7th different one) and don’t even care that my face was the colour of a postbox for a good hour afterwards. I’m currently thinking of taking a half day Friday so I can drive early to my parents up North to fit a new one in!!
I did my 7th Parkrun today and have been going to my home Parkrun since the start (it’s 2 minute walk! So convenient) I want to do Parkrun touring when I’ve established an average run time! Well done you on exploring other Parkruns from the get go! X
Thank you, I’m lucky that in Hertfordshire there are quite a few within easy reach and in nearby counties too. I have found that every single one I go to has the same friendly ethos and only wish I’d started last year! I found what I love about it most is that warmth of the welcome, the encouragement, the smiles, the awe inspiring things you see - people overcoming the odds - I never fail to be inspired,
I am a real weirdo, as I get excited for volunteering at my parkrun! 🤣
I work Saturday mornings. I will have to get a new job. I don't want to miss out!
Thanks for recommending the forerunner 35 - its great and consistently picks up GPS. I now know how slow I am! 🏃♀️😁
Haha. Welcome fellow 45-year old geek!
Thank you. Had a lovely parkrun this morning at a new course. It was an out and back along a canal, so flat and lovely scenery. I did it with my 10 year old Son. We did a nice 27 minute finish followed by a lovely breakfast. Mmmmmm.
