So after 15 months of running, completing longer distances than I ever thought I would, I finally conquered the 30 minute barrier for 5k. A distance that I only do on a Saturday Parkrun (ours is vertical climbs up woodland trails, so I’m on 31 minutes there) as I’m building up to half marathons etc, so tonight’s little road race was a lovely surprise at 29:22.
Don’t want to brag but, 29:22. Just sayin!

You must come over and do it sometime. I’m doing a slow one on Saturday as I’m then going to run home. Must get my miles up but need to save some energy.🤪
Yeah hoping to in the near future but dependent on a friend driving. We were also goong to try Dunstable as sounds nice. No PR for me this weekend as have a wedding tomorrow and I need to be realistic!
Brag away Katie, that's something worth shouting about. 🎉🎆💪Sub thirty remains a distant dream for me. Your parkrun sounds, um, interesting 😌 but I expect it's had a part to play in turning you into a gazelle 😁
Brilliant, brag away, I would be shouting it from the rooftops! Which is your Parkrun? I do Bedgebury Pinetum which is pretty hilly but yours sounds mega tough!
Wendover Woods. It’s near Aylesbury in Bucks. It’s quite new, started last September. I know Bedgebury, I used to live in Kent. Lovely place. Many happy memories of days out at the Pinetum with an ex bf. that was in the ‘80s though!! 🌲 🌳 🏃♀️
Well done. I started c25k about 5 months ago after 25 years of no running. My 5k time after grad was nearly 40 mins and I was both pleased and bitterly disappointed at the same time. Two months later its down to 33 mins (on a very nasty hilly course) so reading your post gives me hope and to be patient. My target is 30 still then it will be 25.
Brilliant! I try not to compare my results with others anymore. Even in my age and gender categories I don’t know their stories. Do this for yourself and enjoy. Hopefully you’ll reach your targets, but don’t beat yourself up if you don’t do it straight away! Keep on running😊🏃♀️🤪
