Well I’m one of those people who enjoy this weather if I am under a gazebo, in the shade, and don’t have to actually walk around in it. So running is a real battle at the mo. I run alternate days in the winter and spring but I am struggling to get 3 runs a week in since it’s been hot.
I’m not sleeping properly, waking every half hour or so, so that’s not helping. But I’ve been keeping myself hydrated and usually find I can get round my run ok. This morning was an exception. I set alarm for 6.30, took my various meds and off I went.
Legs were heavy to start with but I thought that would improve. I was out of breath in my warm up walk (even though I’d remembered my inhalers before I set off) but I thought it would improve. I was channelling Old Floss like a good ‘un, nearly power walking at one point!!! But it was still a battle every step of the way. I had the week 9 podcast from C25k running and had barely done 3k by the time the 30 mins were up so I slid the slider back to the beginning and plodded on. 51 minutes and I’d finally managed a very slow 6k. And it was out of sheer canterousness and pig headedness that I made it home. Cannot wait for it to get cooler or for the pollen to do one!!! I think I need an industrial tub of antihistamines outside my door so I just “ sheepdip” myself through it on my way out.
Still another 6k done - that’s just over 25k this week so I will be happy with that. Happy running everyone 😁
