I huffed and puffed, moaned and grumbled but still did it.

Well I’m one of those people who enjoy this weather if I am under a gazebo, in the shade, and don’t have to actually walk around in it. So running is a real battle at the mo. I run alternate days in the winter and spring but I am struggling to get 3 runs a week in since it’s been hot.

I’m not sleeping properly, waking every half hour or so, so that’s not helping. But I’ve been keeping myself hydrated and usually find I can get round my run ok. This morning was an exception. I set alarm for 6.30, took my various meds and off I went.

Legs were heavy to start with but I thought that would improve. I was out of breath in my warm up walk (even though I’d remembered my inhalers before I set off) but I thought it would improve. I was channelling Old Floss like a good ‘un, nearly power walking at one point!!! But it was still a battle every step of the way. I had the week 9 podcast from C25k running and had barely done 3k by the time the 30 mins were up so I slid the slider back to the beginning and plodded on. 51 minutes and I’d finally managed a very slow 6k. And it was out of sheer canterousness and pig headedness that I made it home. Cannot wait for it to get cooler or for the pollen to do one!!! I think I need an industrial tub of antihistamines outside my door so I just “ sheepdip” myself through it on my way out.

Still another 6k done - that’s just over 25k this week so I will be happy with that. Happy running everyone 😁

Totally understand how you feel. I had plans for about a 5k first thing this morning but after a night of not much sleep it has been resheduled to tomorrow :(

Yup, I started really well with nearly 10 miles on Monday and then went downhill from there. So gutted I miscalculated and didn’t quite make the 10 miles though as I wanted a new milestone ☹️

Well done. You are battling against pollen and heat so you should be proud of running with snails when you could’ve just stayed in bed.

6k is nothing to be sniffed at 🤧
