What a great start to what promises to be a great day.
I managed to leap out of bed and go for a run before 7am, earning myself an ‘early riser’ badge. This might be commonplace for many folk in these parts, but not in my household. I had a short route in mind and a vague notion of running for 20 minutes nonstop. In fact, the route only took about 17 minutes and I was by that time fully on board with Coach Andy’s advice to forget numbers and stop the run feeling good (so we want to get back out and do it again!).
I was back at my front door, feeling fresh... I took mine and my neighbours’ bins out, serenaded her with a ‘happy birthday’ (it was in fact her birthday!) and went indoors to persuade my nine year old son that a cold shower was a great way to start the day.
He gave it a go - and disagrees.
Then the school run before the supermarket run, loading up with Prosecco and Gin and lots of gorgeous food for an open air theatre and picnic event tomorrow.
And get this. I was asked for ID! After the initial reaction of thinking she was pulling my leg, I embraced the moment and looking around said loudly, “you would like to see my ID?” One nice woman got it and thought it was very funny, everyone else thought I was bonkers. I proudly pulled out my drivers licence and showed her that I was in fact coming up for 44.
She was wearing glasses and I asked her if her prescription was due anytime soon. It is 😂
And now my brother, who I haven’t seen for nearly 4 years, has flown in and I will be seeing him in 10 minutes.
Then my lovely boyfriend will arrive this evening and in the morning, we will jump in the sea.
Life is good.
Have a great weekend, peeps!
