Hi guys. I havent posted in bridge to 10k before...posted plenty in c25k but life in France has got very busy. The one thing that hasnt been neglected is my running. Today in 32 degree heat and up 4 horrible hills I completed my first 10k...very pleased with myself. Not sure what I need to do to claim my "graduate 10 badge" peeps, if anyone can advise please.

Wow, I’m so impressed that you did it in 32 degree heat!! That deserves some kind of extra special badge I reckon. Congratulations!! 👏🎉👏🎉

Hi hun...it wasnt the plan...meant to start at 7am but got delayed...the heat was tough...been hydrating all day since...how are you doing?

I walked a mile in 22 degree heat n drank half a litre of water while I was doing it n I was starting with headache by the time I got in so I can imagine how hard it must’ve been! You’re one tough runner!!

I’m good thanks, I’m in Week 3 of Ju-Ju’s magic plan n on track for 5k by the end of it 😃

Your doing brilliant.

The heat is a concern....but there isnt much choice. I get up at 6:30 usually to run and I freeze my water bottle....i had a headache all day after though. Im going to try my lightweight rucksack and bladder next week that I take on my bike...that holds 3 litres. JuJu°s plan is amazing...well done Jill.

Thanks, I’m really enjoying the plan, the improvements come so quickly 😁

Taking your bladder sounds like a good idea. I’ve found tipping some water over my head really helpful to keep the headache at bay too. I know if I can feel the blood pounding round my head for more than 5 or 10 minutes then the headache isn’t far away but the water helps to cool things down. Good luck with it!

Good to see you here, Franglaise, and well done on that amazing achievement – especially in the heat.

FranglaiseGraduate10 in reply toStephen_UK

Thank you...it was tough and made it harder with hills...need to be tough as entered 10k in August though. How is your running going?

Stephen_UK profile image
Stephen_UKGraduate10 in reply toFranglaise

If you can handle hills, you can handle anything.

I’m about to start week 4 of the 10K plan. Doing the time-based version, so the next run is 50 minutes. So far, so good.

Nice to see you have the badge. Very well-earned too.

Thats great stuff...the olan really works. I enjoyed it. My 10k in August is flat so need to practice some flat routes which are very difficult to find without jumping in the car and travelling miles. Enjoy the plan...good to be back with my running buds.

Hi great to see you are doing so well. 10k is brilliant Well done you xxx

Not sure you need to practice on the flat, that 10k will feel a piece of cake after your hills at home!

Franglaise profile image
FranglaiseGraduate10 in reply toJogunlikely

Hi there...hope you are right, just worried flats may feel alien to my running legs.

Is tour running going well? You are getting some heat there too?

Jogunlikely profile image
Jogunlikely in reply toFranglaise

My running is going good thanks. I'm on the timed version of juju's magic plan which is good fun x up to 44 mins continuous running which just seems bonkers when I couldn't do 60 seconds in March 😄.

The weather was not as hot as you guys have had but roasting in UK terms. No idea how you run in 32 heat. But needless to say being Blighty it was back to rain yesterday. At least my run was cool 😉

Merci...the temp is a concern...froze my water bottle...which had completely defrosted in 5 mins. Getting up at 6:30 usually to run. Have my first official 10k 14th August at 7pm so trying an evening run monday. How is your running?

Thank you...it does feel special.

Congrats franglaise. I run a bit in France too. You’ll probably need a medical cert for your race in August. Well done on running in that heat.
