I ran 10k in the sun and shade up and down hills and past people too. I started c25k 9 months ago following a T2 diabetes diagnosis from my doctor. I decided to take my fate in my own hands and loose weight and get fitter and hopefully not have to go on medication for a long while yet. 9 months later a few stone lighter and a good few k later including parkruns. I am amazed that I have managed to run for over an hour when I couldn't even run for a minute when I started.
I have been a lurker on here only posting very occasionally but the support has been amazing so thank you all.

Congratulations Emm8 on your 10k and your weight loss and kissing future medication goodbye, bet youβre proud of yourself. Brilliant! πππ ππ»
Fantanstic!! Well done! :)) You can be really proud of yourself! I'm still on my way to 10k and I started more than one year ago! So I'm a little bit jealous.
A huge well done!!!!!! I am dreaming of doing the 10km or 1 hour run but the weather is killing me...so i am going to plod on with my 30 minute runs until the autumn...then i will be able to post a post like yours....Again i say WELL DONE!!!!
I went out thinking if it was too hot it would be a short run but it wasn't too bad. I went out fairly early and as much as I could kept to the shade. I don't do well when it's too hot.
I'm considered diet/exercise controlled and yearly review. The practice nurse was really pleased with me and gave me a big hug! It was the biggest incentive ever to do something about it!
Many congratulations on your 10k and the weight loss Emm!ππ Great news too about the T2D - I was also diagnosed just before I started c25k and about a year on with a change of diet I've lost 3 stone and my blood sugar level has significantly reduced. Yes, amazing what we are capable of!π
That's fab, well done. At the time I was cross as I felt the GP was making all sorts of assumptions about my lifestyle but it gave me the kick up the bum I needed!!!
