Magic run 3: Parkrun 3

Good morning.

My third Magic Plan run was also my third Parkrun. Definitely a case of third time lucky.

It was a glorious day – perhaps TOO glorious, as it was the hottest conditions in which I’ve run since I started in late February. But a lovely blue sky was a joy to behold after a month of unrelenting rain and clouds. And parts of the track are in shade, offering some relief.

As always, the good feeling of the event spurred me on and I ran inexplicably faster than I ever can in the week. Never underestimate the power of adrenalin. I would really urge anyone considering a Parkrun to give it a go for this reason: you will be swept away by the excitement and your time will improve. It’s SO different to running on your own.

The hills were still evil, but at least I know them now. I tried Debston’s trick of laughing at the hill, but the best I could manage was a sort of grimacing smile.

Anyway, I beat my time of last week, so that was satisfying. Looking forward to the next one already.

Well done, I did the same, yay for us completing Week 1 of the magic plan! Starting to feel like I can actually do this! And keep on laughing at those darn hills, we will NOT be intimidated by them. 😂

Of course you can do it.

And yes, I am going to laugh at those hills until they start behaving themselves.

Hey Stephen, yes such a glorious morning and the warmest for me too. These park runs are so addictive I’m glad I found something to fill my Saturday mornings with. Hope you will join me for a 4th park run next week 👍👍

I was trawling through the C25k forum looking for this. Didn't think of looking here, doh !

Well done on your third park run and your PB. And the end of week 1 of the 10k programme !

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, not sure which forum to post on these days as I love ‘em both.

I feel like I'll be the last one to finish week 1, lol. I'll get the lights and lock the door and put the cat out : )
