Consecutive days

I've been running for a year now. I thought I'd do a little trot this morning, even though I ran yesterday, because I have my goal of 700km/yr and so 350km by the end of June in sight. I went slow and it felt hard, but I was glad to get another 4km under my belt.

I've been eating too much sugar recently, so have improved my diet and hope to feel better and quicker again soon πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Go you...I try to vary my runs if running every day... making sure I have a short after a long.. the quickies can be fun:) Go you.. and ditching the sugar will be one of the best things you have ever done!

Take a peek at Michael Mosley's Eight Week Sugar Free eating regime..it is really worth looking at for the ideas and the recipes.. and his wife has written a recipe book too.

We followed it a few years ago... ( husband is a Type 2 Diabetic..) we didn't do the fasting and our carb intake was a bit higher..it made a massive difference to him. We use a load of the recipes now within our already healthy eating regime:)

It isn't just for diabetics or potential diabetics though.. the ethos behind it I feel is a good one. Just thought you may find it interesting?

Thank you, I've ordered the book from EBay. I've a pretty good idea of what I should do...

...but I'm naughty!

I admire the fact you have a goal. I have no idea how far I have run in a year. I might start to keep a record from now on. Sugar is very bad for you and rots your teeth.

Happy trotting. Well done πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I have a spreadsheet with all of my runs from when I bought my first Garmin but I don't know how far I run in a year, I mainly look at the weekly and monthly distances. Off to have a look now

Do you have a running watch? You can probably get that data from the app

I do but only got it last July. I shall have an tot up in a couple of weeks

I wouldn't still be doing the running without a goal. I'm pretty sure I'd have given up and gone to sit on the couch. (Anyone's couch really, I only have a chair!)

My work colleague not renown for sporting activity has suggested you do as many ks as you can in the summer to avoid having to run in the winter months. I have pointed out that is not how it works and you have already proved your metal (or possibly you are mental) by already doing half a winter. πŸ™‚

I cheated, I did a month of it in Australia 😁

I had forgotten that. But you are still doing good.

2017 - 698.71

2018 - 728.32

2019 - 340.80

Great, that gives me hope. Perfectly do-able then.

Of course it is, especially as you are doing some longer runs than me

More like desperate not to get rained on and the weather forecast wasn't good for Thurs. Also had a morning meeting at work today, so wanted to get the run in while I could. Now having 2 days off 😁

You’re just ahead of me... 5k today put me on 200.4 miles, so 320km ish.

Looks like you’re going to smash 700k for the year as your long run will put bigger and bigger holes in it.

Ah, long run. Yep must do one of those. Will the rain hold off long enough for a long run?
