Of course, you know me, gotta do a ParkRun tomorrow. Only thing is, I quite fancy a local 10k trail on Sunday too. If I take both easy, do you think it’ll be ok? A couple of weeks ago I pushed hard to get my PB on a ParkRun and then was fine on a 5k the next day. Thoughts? Don’t want to miss the ParkRun ❤️
Sorry, I forgot to say I have done a few 10ks before. Not easy for me but I’ve got down to 1:08 now.

Thanks for the advice 👍🏽 Desperate for that 50 ParkRun shirt which will take me til February non stop as it is, so not wanting to miss any 😂 I’ll maybe see how my legs are fairing on Sunday morning 👌🏽
No way! She’s a superhero though 😂 Thanks for the encouragement 👍🏽 I’m tempted, I must say!
I think the consecutive days thing is for the first year, while you are building legs and strength, but I guess it depends on lots of other factors too. You’re young and running regularly so I would think you would be ok, but what do I know, I’ve only been running 9 months this time around.
Awe thanks Flick! 10k is still a bit of a chore for me 😂 This forum keeps me going. It’s such a fab place to hang out. Funny how we’ve all got to 10k but continue on with the forum anyway 😂
I can run for two hours non stop but I envy your speed. I think the reason I can run that long is because I’m so tediously slow. I think if you want the longer distances with ease, you need to work on slowing down. I would guess your speed with naturally pick up after a while but with the stamina the slow running has built in. And yes it’s lovely to stay on this forum x
You’re right. I need to get myself some more longer runs in and that should help my speed with the 5ks. Hopefully I’ll have time now it’s the summer hols! 🤗
Guesty26 But ju-ju- has been running for around 5 years Tasha99 . Hidden is correct in saying running legs need building and generally running a year before starting on consecutive runs is the usual advice.
I think you are probably going to do it anyway Tasha 😉
As it's a one-off? 😄 don't try and break any records on both days.
Having said that, I've recently started sometimes running on consecutive days and been told it's ok by experienced long term members of the forum, but I'm not doing two long runs back to back.
Hmmmm personally I wouldn’t because my legs do need that day inbetween to recover but I only graduated in May. My 3 x 10k’s are around your time too but not sure I’d be able to do it straight after a 5k.
It’s your choice and your legs - you know them best!
Either way good luck with your weekend running. 🙌🏼😊🙌🏼
