It's the third week of the June Quest - please feel free to join
What is the Quest?
The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
The Quest takes one calendar month. You can join at any point during that time.
I ask that you are a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest. The reason for this is that pre-graduation your week is very much structured according to the C25K programme, and I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:
★ To run three times a week
★ To slowly increase distance
★ To train for a specific race
★ To add Stretch and Strength exercises to your weekly routine
This is a personal challenge, so it's completely up to you! If you want to join, all you have to do is comment below with something like:
I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in! I want to ..............
At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate for you to download and keep!!
Wishing you a wonderful week of running! 💥

A manic week for me last week. I only managed 1 - 5km and 1 - 4km Run. Lots of gardening for my Dad and catch up on some chores for him. I have tried to fit in little walks as well. Today I’m off to one his exercise classes for the over 50’s with him, he doesn’t do bad for over 80. 😀.
I managed quite a lot of activity last week. I ran twice 7k and 5k which has put my moon distance up to15.9miles🌛
I did two sessions of pilates and one session of La Bomba (don't ask😅...I was moving for the whole 45 mins, but maybe not recognisable as proper dance moves!😉)
I went for a 4k walk, dodging the showers, as well.
I have noticed a bit of a niggle in my right knee. I don't feel it while I'm running, but it can come on while I'm walking, and even when just sitting.
It could be because of more hill work (downhill maybe) or it might be referred pain from elsewhere. I am trying MICE, I don't really want to stop running but may have a few days off to see if it makes a difference.
My knee has never given me any problems before 😕... it seemed to start at the very end of May.
Well done I. Everything you have got done. I’m sorry your knee is playing up, strange that it should just start. Look after it, a little rest is a good idea. Take care of yourself. Rfc x
I did a 9km yesterday - just before it rained all day. It wasn't fast but it was my up and down hill route so I'm pleased that I didn't stop MUCH. Did a 5km and a Pilates class during the week too. I do need to get back to more stretching and core work.
This week, I have a race in France! It's an 8km so I should be fine but I think it will be hot over there. Need to pack shorts and a singlet and sunglasses. How great to leave my rain jacket at home. I'll fit in a 5km run too and I'm off to Pilates tonight. My hip flexors are complaining 'though....
I've never done this one. I'm always on the lookout for races in France but I prefer to find trail runs. I did one in Nantes city - very hilly, climbing lots of stone steps!
Good luck for your event, looking forward to hearing how it all went. I saw the forecast for France today, very different from here, don’t forget you suncream. Have a great time. Rfc x
Starting the 10k magic plan this week so I need to fit in a 5.5km run, longer than I have ever run before! I must admit to feeling daunted, especially after a hot run today that left me feeling a bit flat. But I feel enthusiastic about seeing how I do and I won't beat myself up if I'm not quite ready for it yet. Other than that, it's just to run three times a week and squeeze in another Parkrun before the end of the month. I was hoping to do that last Saturday but my alarm didn't go off and I overslept.
I am slightly daunted too, I have only done 5K once and now I have to do a 5K and and 5.5K but if we don't try we'll never know
On the plus side, I am working from home on one of my run days, so I'll have the time during my lunch hour, or even before work in my normal commute time, to take it slow and steady.
What day are you starting? I'll do the short run tomorrow (with a slight bit outside) at the butt crack of dawn and then the 5K on Thursday and the 5.5 on Sunday, all being well!
😂 We can be daunted together! I did my short run today and am thinking of doing the 5.5k on Wednesday and save the 5k for Parkrun on Saturday morning. I have only run 5km twice, one was Parkrun and one was my race on 9 June. Am very aware that I am still an absolute novice but like you say, we won't know if we can do it until we try! I like the idea of a structured programme to follow while I am still finding my new running legs. After enjoying a bit of running free, I have found myself dithering a bit about how far to run, how long for, which route to choose etc. Time to let someone else do the thinking for me! 😂
Like lots of others I am starting the 10k plan, slightly daunted, we'll see how it goes.
Ran outside yesterday, had a bit of breathing difficulty, but I am hoping to add just a bit outside every week to get me ready for a parkrun in August. I have 6 weeks, hopefully the pollen will drop a bit before then - which reminds me, I need an inhaler again.
I really need to get on the strength and flex, I haven't done a thing yet but I really want to add it in on my non-run days, can we make days be 26 hours long, that would help a lot, does anyone mind?
Slow and steady, you will be fine. Hay fever is the pits, I suffer with it from time to time. The strength and flex forum is great for motivation . healthunlocked.com/strength....
Hello I would like to join the Quest by running 2-3 times a week, to complete my goal of 30 km this month (virtual running goal with Runfortheworld) and to run my first park run on my birthday on 29 June. I graduated on 3rd June and felt I needed something to aim for after C25K as I felt a bit lost on my first post Couch run.
Count me in too, please. My Quest is to start following the Magic Plan to 10K (as of tomorrow) while continuing to run a Parkrun every Saturday. So 3 x 30-minute runs with one getting longer in duration and one hopefully getting shorter.
