Here we are right in the middle of Summer, how has your running year gone so far?
How is it all going for everyone... are we keeping on target...as the days stretch out before us
On Sunday, I am just a week away from my HM, and... still managing to get the runs in here and there...with my last long run this Sunday
What the Quest is;
The Quest takes one calendar month . You can at join any point during that time.
The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this is that while you are completing the programme, your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and Strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice. So if you want to join, all you have to do is put;
I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in and then, I would like to. ..............
Each week in March I shall put up a new post...it is important that we get together and we can chat, support and encourage each other, and generally just see how we are all doing.
At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep should you wish to.
Stay safe, stay healthy and stay running x!

Hey guys. Graduated just over a week ago. I would like to join the quest with a goal of slowly increasing my distance week to week. Currently running 1 x 30 mins and 2 x 5K as my consolidation runs but would like to increase distance on my 3rd run.
Sometimes adjusting our goals is the best thing for our training. I think that is one of the most important lessons I have learnt along the way on my journey 😀. Good luck. Rfc x
You're quick - I was still trying to edit after the first draft got away from me by mistake …….. it was meant to say
So, aiming for a long slow run of 20k, up from 18k last month, and 14k at race pace, which is now realistically 6'00"/k, though a bit quicker would be nice. Hopefully the long one can spring off Dexy5 pacing me to 14 or 15k at around 8'30"/k.
Great Quest, take it nice and steady. I am excited been working in my hamstrings for four months, for a while it doesn’t feel like it did much but I am pain free now, so keep doing the serves they give you, they do work. Rfc x
Hello RFC, my main quest is to keep running without injury and get out 2-3 times a week.
I need to run a 15k long one at some point in my training to get to 10 miles for the great south run. I will try and get out early on a cool day for that one.
On 31st August I will be celebrating my 50th parkrun dressed as a pirate with some runny friends.
I’ve also got to keep UTS in order to stop him going too fast ⚡️
Hi. Have recently graduated and am living in Portugal in the Algarve for 3 months. Has been really hard to find somewhere to run as I am in a valley and all paths are up up up . Have found a path which is undulating near a river. It is short but if run up and down trice gives me 5 k . So I want to do 5 K , 3 times a week and on the odd days yomp up a hill, with the dog. Early morning as gets to 35 in the shade.
*My goals are to run 2/3 times per week, one being a longer one near the 10k mark. I am running the Womens Windsor 10k on 23rd September, so I really need to work on Stamina. We haven't walked the course yet, but I know its hilly...😕
* I will add in some planks, and do some pilates for my core.
Not a peep from my knee lately...
Mr BBr has started to run again, which means more interesting run routes as he is happy to drive further afield, and prefers it. (We are going to do Bushy Parkrun, on our own on a weekday). I'm finding this more challenging than to keep repeating my local routes, but its good for me and more fun.🏃🏃
You have some exciting plans going on there. I bet the historical bushy Parkrun route is fun. I walked a bit in Windsor a couple of years ago, I do remember some steep hills Have a great week. Rfc x
My quest for August is to do the balance, posture and strength exercises that my bone consultant recommends. And to run a long run and a 5km on trails every week. Oh yes and to do my favourite road race too.
Sounds like a plan. I have been working on my balance for five months and I can feel the difference. Mine starts off in the morning with putting my socks on stood up. I was wobbling all over the place when I started now I actually look like I am in control 😂. Good luck with your road race 😀. Rfc. X
