Just another morning run, to get me up to my 3 runs per week again. Heat wave, heat flushes and hot headaches have reduced me to a one/week runner again! π±π±π±
But this morning I had fun rectifying that.
Zombies were out and about in my side missions, as I had finished the main missions of Season 2. So great to know the developers are 5 seasons ahead of me, so plenty of Zombies still to run from! And one canβt simply binge-run those stories! π€£
My route was as beautiful as ever, some dog walkers about, but other than that, post-rain bliss in a cool, woodland setting.
Almost like running in Scotland where my alternate self is running in the North Coast 500 challenge. On LeJog I am rather heading up the (probably very hot) M6 having passed Manchester and heading towards Preston.
At the start of my local run down here, I experienced a short knee and hip niggle, which always feels quite unnerving, but once I had warmed up, they never reappeared. But must watch that!
Happy running everyone!

Just a pedantic query: does the LE-Jo'G follow the M6 or does it divert 15 miles off-line to visit Manchester?
And if you were doing shortest route, you'd probably not use the M6 through Staffs, but probably go closer to Liverpool, having taken the A49 through the Welsh borders, only picking up the M6 around Winwick near Warrington.
Yeah, I really think that is one area needing improvement by the LeJog end to end team. I would prefer a virtual route using trails or smaller roads. Itβs one of the reasons I loved my Hadrianβs Wall journey so much, with large parts on the walking trails.
Yeah, I loath the M5 and M6 and we know it well from visiting family in midlands from the North and also when we used to live in Scotland. We sometimes took the A50, which runs for a long stretch besides M6, but it is slow going.
Pleased you could get out. I in the middle of a hot flush every 3 hours day, one of which I havenβt had in ages and am feeling really heartily fed up.
Iβve just started using Zombies app to help me consolidate C25k - I love it. I needed something to occupy my mind while I was running on my treadmill and this works for me π€£
Yeah, me too. I originally suggested this to my teenage son, but he didnβt go for this but I did instead of him. π I also actually like itβs running statistics, specifically how it updates your best km, mile, 5k, 10k etc. And I love listening to radio Abel with my own Spotify play list. Sometimes with hilarious combinations.
I would have nightmares afterwards listening to the zombies run. But well done getting out . Not much fun having heat flushes. After I have ran and I get hot even after shower my hands start shaking with the heat and really week . Heat not good for me especially at night hands snd feet burn. The north coast 500 meant to be very scenic a lot of folk doing it this year. How your knee and hip settle down π€
Up the M6 with Zombies on the side, what more can one say? πglad you enjoyed your run, it made for brilliant reading, I just love a few zombies to liven things up (whoops)
I just think you're so brave doing a zombie run π just reading about you doing it makes me feel like running very fast.....away π Hope you get your 3 runs back. I got bad headaches when it went stormy and just could not run in that heat before!!
Yeah, the heat was also difficult for me to cope with. And I did wonder if some of my headaches came from the weather or heat. What was nice that it didnβt effect my daily Yoga.
Look out - its behind yooooooo π±π€―π. Anything that bolsters the enthusiasm to get back to it though. Sounds like there are lots of us who have faltered a bit the last while. I'm on a mission to get back to 3 runs/week again too. Onwards with the π§ββοΈ π§ββοΈ π§ββοΈ π§ββοΈ π§ββοΈ
