Hi all, I’ve been lurking in the background of your forum for several weeks now. I graduated at the beginning of May and I’ve been struggling since. I’ve now downloaded a structured 10K app which seems to take you back to interval running but for longer periods of time and slowly build you to 10K. I’m hoping the structure will help me to progress my distance. I’m aiming for a 10K wolfrun in sept!!!
Feel like an imposter posting in this forum of runners!

Hi! Glad you’ve popped out of the shadows. Firstly, you are a runner, yes you are! Well done on completing C25k. If you’ve just done it recently then I would suggest consolidating for a month, so 3 x30’ a week or one swapped with a park run and then doing juju’s plan. You can definitely run 10km in September. Also my mistake was to think that because I’d graduated I suddenly would go faster but no, I am still a new runner and in the end just went back to slow and enjoyed it.
Welcome to you!! 👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽! Imposter? Oh no, this is the place to be! 🤗 We’ve all taken the tentative step onto the Bridge! I remember that 🥴 feeling very well, but I have only found everyone to be amazingly supportive just like in C25K!! It just adds more to the brilliant experiences so far!! Keep posting and happy running to your 10k goal!! 🥰❤️
Welcome aboard! Definately not an imposter. If you've done c25k you're in the right place.
Do you feel intervals are working for you? I never went back to them but everyone is so different.
Do check out ju-ju's plan or even just add 5 mins to your longest weekly run each week and before you know it you'll be there, especially if you're achieving 5k now 👍😉
There's plenty of time to get you there by Sept though.
Thank you. I’ve just read mummycav’s post and that is just exactly how I feel. I didn’t do my run yesterday, I think the longer run times needed to build to 10K are putting me off. Because I have so much on at home with the kids and my eldest in particular has an awful lot on at the moment, I just can’t face 54 mins out. Which is ridiculous because actually I’m out for 40 on a 30 min run. It’s all mental mindset! I’m obviously not quite there yet. So I’m going to carry on doing my thing for now I think and just enjoy the running for what it is and what it gives me. I feel like it’s been me against the run for a couple of weeks and that’s ridiculous!
Welcome to the bridge madmother! This is exactly where you should be as you work on building up to 10k. No need to feel like an imposter, we're a very friendly, welcoming crew on here who love to read about everyone's adventures and runs, good or bad that they may be.
Good luck on your wolfrun in the fall! Those look interesting and fun - mud, obstacles, running. Whoohoo!
Eh? You're no imposter! Welcome! Grab a seat... "Bartender! Gin and tonic please!"
Depends my mood and my week. I’m on my way out to the lake after a very trying week and I may’ve splurged a bit at the liquor store. I’m not running until Sunday and the runs are pretty short right now given i’m only in the second week of my new plan .... so Cheers🍹🥴 😁
Good point 😁. Booze just makes me tired. Hubby just dropped me off at the lake since he has some appointments to still do in town. I’ve had lunch and a lovely beverage and may end up having a nap now 😴😂. I’ll never make it until 11pm when he should make it back out here with our kiddo. Good thing the boarding plank to get on our boat is quite loud, so that’ll wake me up 😂
