Recent C25K Graduate.

I've recently completed the Couch to 5K and want to see if the 10K is within my grasp. Don't want to even think about the M-word, despite my wife's mentioning it. Reckon my knees could just about double up, so looking for hints and tips to make that transition.

Cheers,

Stephen

Congratulations on completing c25k. Its recommended that you continue to run for 30 minutes for a few weeks first , then when you are ready this is a plan that lots of people used to get to 10k. Good luck 😊😊

I'm on the third week or consolidation runs and they're going well so far. Is there a support app for the bridge to 10K or do I just follow the plan?

Hi welcome and congratulations. Ju Ju's plan to 10k is fantastic. I did a few weeks of 5k consolidation then started straight into 10k. Follow the plan, the short runs allow you to go for speed if that is your thing whereas the long run each week is where you build up your endurance for the longer distances. Its perfectly ok to slow down a bit as you increase distance. Good luck, post your progress.🤗

I've just started this plan and its great after the boredom of consolidation runs! I'm following the increase in running time version as I'm really slow and didn't hit 5k in the 30 mins. So depending on where you're at you have the choice of 2 options - increased time or distance.

Good luck!

Thanks for your help. I was just on the cusp of 5K in 30 minutes. You're right though, the regular runs of the same length was getting a bit tedious.

I’m doing the distance version hoping that when I’ve done 10k I can do 5k quicker if that makes sense. It’s the third time I’ve tried to get to 10k but I have a running partner now who is very encouraging.
