Running epiphany.....

I asked myself what my goal was when I started C25K and it was to run regularly, 3xweek. Today I realised I've been so caught up with times, speed & distances since graduating that I was starting to loose my initial goal, to run to be healthy.

So today, I didnt start any running apps, I just put on playlist and ran a different route. No reminders of how long I've been running or a breakdown at each km. The route took approx 26mins however I have no idea how far I ran or the speed I did and it felt FLIPPIN FANTASTIC!

No more apps for me, I just dont wanna know! As long as I continue exercising regularly, I'm happy!

Happy running x

That's a freeing feeling, and clearly has been a source of joy 🤗🤩🤗

I have returned from an injury and in a similar vein, I set out for time now, usually a minimum 25 minutes, if I go for longer so be it!

The fact you're back after an injury is amazing and that it hasnt put you off! Good luck with your running, x

What a coincidence! Two days ago, early morning, I decided to just run. No app. No metronome. No phone. No PB to beat. No music. Just enjoy a route in the country. I had a vague plan to run for 30 minutes and head back or, if the bones were moving well to run 10km to the next town and get a bus back. HOWEVER a call of nature 25 minutes in forced me back and I didn’t DARE run. The best laid plans and all that.... I’ll try again next week.

Sounds like a plan- I'll be out running again on Monday and then pop to gym for a swim.

Very wise decision pvh! I don't use apps, although I know people who enjoy them. I'm trying to increase my distance but I want to keep enjoying the runs, so I'm taking my time. And I'm not watching my time either, if that makes sense 😁 Run wild, run free 😂
