I spent most of this week an absolute bag of nerves getting myself worked up about it and all for no reason!
I had a great run, and great experience (despite stuff running out, big queues and a slight lack of organisation in some bits). To get a PB of 1hr9mins even in this weather was the cherry on the cake.
I’m buzzing even now. I think I probably could have gone a bit faster but perhaps that just makes me want to try another one!
I ran on my own but everyone around me was lovely, it was great to be out with so many people of all abilities.
I’d definitely recommend it.
Here’s to the next one!

Yay! Well done to you!😀👍 Great time too. Seems as though a fair few of us ran this - there are reports on the Marathon and Race Support forum too. It was a fab day wasn't it? 😀🏅
Congratulations Pancakes! Awesome PB, so glad you enjoyed it. I have the Asics 10k in London in July, which I think is the same course.
Congratulations! Very good time and extra congrats on it being a PB. I don’t know about anyone else, but my first event at any distance my target time is... well, I don’t have one, it’s all about finishing. Could you have run faster? Maybe, would it have made you feel better? Judging by your post that’s just not possible. Plenty of other 10k runs to target that time.
Well that’s very true. People kept asking what my time would be and all I really wanted was to complete it - to enjoy it and to run the whole thing. As my running improves, I hope my time will too, but for now I’m happy 🤞
Woohoo, well done Pancakes, you needn’t have worried! All these positive reports have made me decide that I’ll definitely enter for next year’s event. It sounds fantastic! 😀
Very well done on your PB too! What a bonus! 👏👏👏👏👏
I know how you feel! I ran Bristol earlier this month, and I absolutely can’t wait for my next event. I’m doing the Race for Life at the end of June and the Severn Bridge 10k in August. Have fun picking your next race - it’s addictive isn’t it? 😀
Wow! Congratulations that's a great time! You must be on top of the world! I know I can run 10k but haven't got the bottle for a race at the moment. Your post & all the other 10k racers are very inspiring to read about though. Happy runnings....🏅🏃♀️🙂
I can’t recommend it enough. I’d run 10/11k a few times before and felt like I was struggling with my 5k runs so I was worried I’d bitten off more than I could chew. But it’s given me the biggest confidence boost.
Congratulations Pancakes, it was a great day wasn’t it?😀👍 I got round in 1:08:58 officially so I’m pleased with that.😊 Have a look on the website (if you haven’t already), where you can find a personalised certificate and hopefully some photos of yourself running round. The photos will cost though but I don’t think it’s too exorbitant. All you need is your name and bib number. Good luck! 🙂👍
