So I graduated just over 2 weeks ago and currently doing consolidation runs. Today I ran my furthest distance yet' 6km in a decent time. If I'm honest, I could have run abit more if I tried and added another km. I don't want to over do it so should I stick to my target (3x30mins p/w) or just go with the flow and run until I'm tired? I'm fully committed to this new running lifestyle and dont want to lose my mojo for it.

Today I ran my first 10k... my head and legs both said I could carry on... never listen to them! You may well be ready to come out of consolidation and, officially, on to the road to 10k, but the best advice I can give is to stick to a plan, keep the risk of injury down and although it’s not as soon as you could possibly do it, you’ll enjoy that 10k run much more.
Wow your doing great. Sub 30 minute 5K already. 5-6K is a perfect distance and I would aim to continue as you are for a couple of months so as to nicely build up the miles on your legs. Have you tried Parkrun yet? You really should give it a go.
After 2 months add 0.5K to 1K onto one of your runs each week and build up to 10K of you want.
Thanks, great advice. I'm planning a parkrun in a couple of weeks with some friends. It will be my 1st time running with anyone so looking forward to it.
It’s absolutely amazing and I have done a couple of 10K, 5K and 6K road races. But personally nothing compares to Parkrun. I just love it. I’ve done 38 so far and volunteered 10 times. I’m looking forward to doing some Parkrun tourism with my 10 year old Son this weekend.

Agree stick to the plan at this stage. When you have a few more runs under your belt you can be a little more creative!😀
