Doing more posting than running

I didn’t want to run round our park today so persuaded Willow that it would be drier on the Downs because when the rain falls gravity pulls it down so it just stands to reason that the top would be drier, hmm I couldn’t have been more wrong, it was wet muddy and there were so many people but with the wide open spaces the pathways between trees we avoided most of them, it was too slippery to run so our second Garmin coach run we mostly walked and the sun shone down, Happy Sunday everyone and thanks for being here

It's a beautiful day here today but very wet underfoot. It lifts your spirits to get outside doesn't it. I did a small jog/walk today and even that rather pathetic bit of exercise cheered me up!

It really does make a difference getting outside

Oh, and thanks for posting. I've been lurking and not posting because of injury and losing my mojo, so it's nice to see your posts and knowing that we're all just doing our best!

Yup our best is all we can do and totally good enough x

Tops of hills can be just as boggy and muddy as anywhere, unless it's all rocks and that's only on tops of mountains above 4000 feet which of course the Downs are not, nevertheless I am glad that you enjoyed your walk and run today, helped by the sun shining. 😊

Thanks Al it’s so busy out there i don’t think we’d have got much of a run in wherever we went

Ah - you got out there and moved. There’s part of my run where I do think the slightly higher side of the path is drier (correction: a little less muddy) than the lower side. But I think the ground is just saturated at the moment. There was one day where it was cold enough to firm up the mud (it was nice to run on) but not so much as to ice. I don’t understand the science here.🤷🏼‍♀️

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to GailXrunning

Sometimes it can be firmer but not slippery, ice is lethal

That looks lovely Sola - I know what you mean about busy. I had a walk along our seafront yesterday and it was heaving and I’m told it’s the same today! I haven’t been out today but will have a short walk round to my Bubble this evening for supper! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Thank you and I’m off now fir a week so will be out again tomorrow, hopefully it won’t be as busy as it’s likely to be raining lol 😂

No one meeting inside gets them out and the sun was amazing, i could feel warmth through my leggings, i’m hoping to get out every day of my holiday either walking or running

What a marvellous sky and a great view. I reckon the whole country must be under a sea of mud. While out dog walking today it was relief to walk through the puddles.

At least the sun was shining and you got some fresh air in your lungs 💙

A slower pace can often mean you see something you might have missed whilst running, too 🙂

That’s very true, what we did see was a lot of people enjoying the space and weather and that was great, although busy there’s plenty of space up there for all

It was a really lovely sunny Sunday wasn’t it? So different to yesterday! Those chalky paths can be lethal if they’re wet. Lovely views 😊

Wonderful photos! Getting outside really does lift the spirits doesn't it? Run, jog, walk, whatever. 😁

I was so tired and lethargic I nearly didn't run today. If Mr B had wanted to go for walk - I'd have an excuse not to run, but he said "No". 😠 Now, after my run, I feel energised and so much more awake.

Enjoy your time off work - hopefully you will fit in a nice run or three. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

What a lovely day to be out and about!

Apparently it’s really crowded and busy at our local beauty spots, I think they may have closed the car parks. So in a way (for me) it’s good that we have to exercise from home.

Enjoy your time off 🥰

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to LottieMW

We drive but only a mile, we like to get off the road before we start and looking at the car park everyone drove, we have about a mile to the sea or a mile to the downs It’s great to be high up 😀

LottieMW profile image
LottieMWAmbassador in reply to SueAppleRun

My daughter is about the same. She will drive to Hove seafront for her runs, but her partner runs from home 😳

They’re about 3.5 miles from Devil’s Dyke...but plenty of places to walk nearer than that 😊

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to LottieMW

It’s very busy there too probably 10 miles to Devils Dyke for me i checked it’s 9.1 miles, i haven’t been there for years

A glorious day whether you were running or walking W&S. given the rain warnings coming up, you just had to get out. At least if you run in the rain, there will be less walkers around.

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Dexy5

I’m hoping for a run today and it’s not raining yet so fingers crossed there aren’t too many people although i don’t mind people but dodging them sure slows us down

It looks beautiful Sola. I was out running yesterday and Saturday and with surrounding farms there was a lot of muddy tractory paths however Sunday had the best sunshine🌞.Enjoy your week off !👍😀x
