I am not really sure where to start with progressing to 10K. Any tips are welcomed as it seems daunting
5K wanting to run 10K: I am not really sure... - Bridge to 10K
5K wanting to run 10K
Try one of the Bridge 210K podcasts.
Gradually lengthen your run each time and it will seem less daunting Head a bit further away from your starting point. Good luck 😁
Hi Lmyth, Congratulations on graduating the c25k program, and you have run 5k which is a bonus!
Its usually advisable to consolidate your 30 minutes of running for a couple of weeks, thus gaining strength, stamina and experience before starting a 10k plan. Mixing up shorter runs, hills and running for 30 minutes will be helpful.
Then once you find a 5k run fairly comfortable you could try Ju Ju's 10 is the Magic Number plan and start building your distance safely towards 10k. The plan can be found in the Pinned posts on this forum.
There are also some c25k + podcasts which are a bit different that you could have a go at before starting the 10k plan. Here is the link...

Happy running 😊x
I completely agree with Bluebirdrunner’s recommendation.
I also agree with Bluebirdtlrunner 🤩
I also agree with Bluebirdrunner Lmyth
Have a read if you've not done already of healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which might be helpful to you
The link to Ju-Ju's magic running plan, which Bluebirdrunner mentioned, is here: healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...
But yeah whatever journey you take to 10k, try to replace one run a week (assuming you run 3 times a week) with strength or speed runs (i.e. intervals or hills etc)
Hope this helped and I wish you all the best for you in this new challenge 👍🙂
I also agree with bluebirdrunner, maybe we should get t-shirts! I'm working my way through JuJu's magic 10 plan, but slowly, because I was struggling with three runs a week as the distances increased. I'm nearly there now. I also had to consolidate for quite a long time before starting the plan, due to illness, injury and stuff. Telling you all this so you know that it's as flexible as you want to make it. Maybe run a couple of parkruns, so you know you're ready to move on?
