Fabulous450 does Parkrun PB and everything is good!! 😱😃😃❤️

Hi Runners

An early wake up for me. Followed by another little dose. Wake up again and it’s 7am. Check my mail. Two separate VRB messages “Barcode, headphones, phone, Parkrun time“ and “Are you doing Parkrun today?”....Now what on earth? 😊 I guess I am!! No....come on Fabulous450, I know I am! 💪🏽

Up... kit on, I’m ready! Barcode, headphones, phone.....Parkrun time (Thanks for the check list UnfitNoMore). I leave out at 8am, not chancing any parking saga’s! I’m on it! 😂. I even had time to go and get a coffee on route. Parked very easily and legally! 🙏🏽 Thank you!!

Waiting for run time and sipping my coffee. I get out and head for the starting line early. Who do I see directing the traffic into the parking area? Equi-geek jogging on the spot... all smiley and energetic! The perfect person to see to boost me up some more! The star!! 🤩! She isn’t running today, but she’s certainly making the atmosphere exciting!! Thank you Equi 🤗

I find the 45 Pacer, then get brave and go to the 40. I’m ready. We’re off and I’m ready with my NRC App! I forgot the countdown to the start that it does and I’m running before it starts, but it matters not. I’m at Parkrun!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽!

It’s all going pretty good, then I notice my shoe lace has come undone. They’re only short, so I contemplate, then decide to run on. I carried on for a bit. Ahead of the 40 Pacer now, getting close to the 35 Pacer 😯! I’m not pushing, just checking in on myself, how I’m feeling in my body and my breathing, adjusting as needed and carrying on. Is that me? 😌

Then a lovely Runner gives me a tap on her way and says “ your lace is undone”! Well... it’s silly to risk it, I think 💭 and stop to tie it..... tight! 💪🏽! Now run on. Steady but ready! I picked up the pace and I’m back with the 35 Pacer coming into the final lap 2!! Then...would you believe it? The same lace comes undone again!! Did I tell you I tied it tight? 🤦🏽‍♀️ But, I ask myself what matters most? Is it that chance of a PB or a run complete? So, I stop again. It does interrupt your flow, but I decide the 35 isn’t going to be today and watch his back as I carry on. It’s a bit of a miracle I’m here doing it at all. That’s enough! 😀!

I run on and I can see the home stretch. As I’m getting closer I see Equi again (one of the volunteer Tail Walkers too today 🤩) and she’s smiling and waving on the slight uphill bit. I’m happy to see her again.

I did it! Even had an extra bit of kick 🏃🏽‍♀️👟👟 for the final bit when you can see the finish line! According to my App, I may have still got a Parkrun PB! 😉 But it really doesn’t matter!

Results are in and it’s a PB at 35.4! 🏃🏽‍♀️💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽👯‍♀️👯‍♀️!

I was proud of myself for being out there today, feeling like a Runner (with unruly laces🤣🤣🤣)!

I did PR today too, and my watch and Strava measured it at 4.95k! Seriously now? The course certainly hasn’t changed! But what fun it is isn’t it? ❤️

Yes, I’m in Swindon! Ooh that would be fantastic Cheeky!! 😁😁🤣 You’re guaranteed an adventure when I’m out!!! 🤣🤣🤣! It was a great Parkrun!! My App only recorded 4.7k, so I’m even further out 🥴, but it is what it is. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m just glad I did it! 🙌🏽

I’m getting excited now! I need something else running related to look forward to after the high of my 10k race last weekend, and July 6th is too far away (there’s another meet-up in the offing I think!). So let me know any weekends that would work for you! 👏👏👏 I’d leave at the crack of dawn to get a parking spot! 😅😅

Darned tech! I’ve run Eastville enough times to know that it usually records exactly 5k, so why the blip today! Hmph. 👎😅 Sounds like you had your own issues! 😅

The field has been re-opened for Parkrun Parking now, so it shouldn’t be such a drama to get parking now. It would be lovely to see you Cheeky! You must feel free to run on ahead though! I wouldn’t want to hold you back!! 😁❤️

I went to Keswick as usual, and missed my Personal Best (30:11) by 5 seconds 😢

But I had huge fun, and don't care at all.

Come on Flar!! WE can do it! It feels a little like the C25k days where it could go either way, so a bit of a push is still required but I limit that push to getting the kit on and getting through the door. I’ve started to change the music from slow and meditative to more upbeat. Slow has been right and suited me well. I’m just turning a corner, but on the road Flar!! Remember if we do 10 minutes it will be just fine. Routing for us Flar!! 🦋 ❤️

Flipping 10k tomorrow is hanging over me Ugh!😫 Just want to get it out the way, it's going to be such a struggle even to run/walk it ~ but this time tomorrow it will be over with and I can focus on my 150minutes exercise a week ~ the challenge of working out how to do that with my new 12hour shifts is just the challenge I need. I avoided parkrun today as ours turns into a quagmire after it rains and we had a downpour yesterday! As you’d guess the muddiest part is on the hill too - and you get to do it twice. Might have mentioned I hate hills!! Been out though and missed the showers. ✅ Great time even if it doesn’t matter!!😆

I'd love to come on the 25th, ours is cancelled, but have to go to a wedding...no parkrun that weekend. Marlborough is good. Smaller than Lydiard and the course is challenging on grass, but really really friendly. We love It. My husband marshals. He got his t shirt for 25 a couple of weeks ago. I've volunteered 20 times.

Volunteers are so great. It’s only my fifth time attending Parkrun, as Saturdays are usually my only chance to lie in, but maybe I’ll get into a routine of going. You’re all very much appreciated for dedicating your time to do it!! Thank you!! ❤️
