Hi. I recently completed C25K and stepped up my running distance. I ran 3.6 miles yesterday morning (a little more than planned) and am planning to go to my first running club tonight. I've signed up to Group 1 which is a distance of 5k. Will I be ok to run tonight after a long (for me) run yesterday morning? I'm aching a little but don't feel in pain. My legs are a little tired but nothing more than tired after a good work out. Any advice would be appreciated. I really want to go so I can start running with people but don't want to risk injury. Thanks

Run two days consecutively
The advice for new runners and runners who have been running for less than 6 months is never to run on consecutive days, go to the running club tomorrow and tell them that you ran 3.6 miles yesterday morning, they will advise you whether or not to run with them.
Running consecutive days IS risking injury until you've run for some time and are comfortable with increased distances. Normally people run back to back days when training for marathons but to achieve that, runs of up to 15K are norm. l ran consecutive days in the beginning and paid for it with an inflamed knee. l didn't attempt days in the row until good two years later but many will be ready well sooner than that.
If you go back to your graduation page you will find a link from the admin with advice for graduates. The first thing to note is the advice to consolidate your 30 minute runs for 3 weeks before extending time. Also the advice is not to run consecutive days until you’ve run for a year.
No matter how great you feel having completed C25K, graduates are novice runners and allow their bodies to get used to this running lark.
Have fun and try different things with your runs.
