It’s been a while, September to be precise, I’d just completed my first half marathon and was still on a high, but after the buzz of achieving something I never thought I could do, I seriously dipped afterwards. That, along with a very boozy December and eating too much disorder, I thought it was about time I got back on it. Whilst I’m now three days away from the end of Dry Jan (Not that I’m counting, although I am looking forward to a pint of cider and a bag of nuts, easily pleased me!) I’m back to running 5k 2-3 times a week, I finally did my first Park run on Saturday and what a buzz that was running with all those people, I think I’ve caught the bug again! So much so, I’ve signed up for the Robin Hood half marathon again as it’s the 40th year of running!
The only down side, I don’t appear to have lost any weight, but you can’t have it all.
Happy running everyone!

Welcome back 😊 Glad to hear you’re enjoying running 5ks at the moment. I hope the training goes well for your next half!
I ran all during December. Even ran 6 parkruns over 2 weeks in the middle of Christmas, 3 x Saturday’s, Christmas morning, and a parkrun double on New Years Day. I ran a 5K road race in the middle of all that as well.
But even with all that running I still managed to gain 10 lbs in weight due to over indulgence over Christmas and December. It’s coming off now slowly. I lost 2.5 stone in weight last year, not due to running, but only due to eating smaller portions and healthier food choices.
Welcome back and happy running, parkrun is amazing, I’m a huge fan. It’s the best part of Saturday and a great way to kick off the weekend.
Yes, I totally agree with you about Park run! My 5k times are getting more respectable (approx 27.30 mins now) but unfortunately I do like food, I've lost about 3lbs since New Year but it keeps going up and down like a yoyo!! Hopefully I'll see a little more improvement providing and I don't drink too many ciders in February!!
