Up in Cumbria for mum and dad’s 60th wedding anniversary celebrations and, as lunch isn’t until 1.00pm, plenty of time to fit in a parkrun. I had really been looking forward to joining theoldfellow for his C25K graduation Runniversary parkrun in Keswick. Unfortunately , as you may have seen, my running buddy has picked up an injury and wasn’t able to run. We started C25K on exactly the same day, so are running twinnies - such a shame! So rather than driving to Keswick, I popped down to Penrith instead. I was going to walk but it’s about 2 miles from mum’s so took the car, with mum’s words of warning about going without having any breakfast (as if I am still 7 and not 57)! It was already 23 degrees so no attempt at a PB (Strava time 33:15) even though a very flat course. Tea and cake after 😃 Now for a shower and dress up for the party 🥳 Keep safe in the heat!

Well done, is the course not very hilly? I imagine it must be in gorgeous countryside.
Sadly the course is around an open field at the sports centre next to the A66 so not exactly scenic. Elevation gain 10m on Strava, which is flatter than Lincoln 😳 In this heat, though, I’m glad it wasn’t hilly.
Happy anniversary to your parents Sandie. That’s an amazing amount of time to be married! ❤️🎉🥂🎈
And good for you running in today’s heat 🥵 I volunteered today, and watching the pained expressions on lots of the runners’ faces made me thankful that I wasn’t one of them today! 🥵🥵🥵
Yep I sure have Sandie. 😀 It’s meant to be 18 degrees and cloudy tomorrow at 11am. Still a tad warm for my liking, but hey I’ll take it! 😀👍
Great run in this heat Sandie 👏👏. And what a wonderful celebration to have. 60 years. Just so lovely. 😊
Have a great party! Well done on what sounds like a nice run
Huge well done you.. hope you are enjoying the celebrations xxx
Well done to you and congratulations to your parents on their anniversary.
I wish we could have got together today, Sandie. The worst part of being on the IC is Saturday Parkrun reports. I am insanely jealous of everyone who got a run in.
Glad you made it round Penrith.
❤
Happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs Sandie snr. Pity about missing out on your runniversary jaunt with TOF; happy runniversary(graduation) anyway. I am back down to earth, chilling out after the boat journey from Scilly. No run for me until Monday. Maybe things will have cooled down a bit by then. OH took a seasickness tablet....seems to have knocked her out judging from the large 💤 floating around the room! Hopefully she will be awake in time for the train north in the morning.....we could always stow away on the ferry if she doesn't make it......
Sorry you didn’t get to run with theoldfellow Sandie, but good that you got a tourism run in . What a lovely family celebration you all had too.
