Glorious day for it last Saturday at our local parkrun. TailChaser and myself helped with pre-event setup. We edged a bit nearer to the start line than usual and I guess this was because conditions looked right for a PB attempt.
Lap 1 went OK. It was a bit busier in the keener runners group. A bit less chat.
Lap 2 I decided to lengthen my stride a bit. That went well for about 1k. Only got lapped by the top 4 finishers π
Lap 3 and the breathing was getting heavier and the strides shorter. I was able to find some speed on the hone straight but I felt no urge to put on a full sprint to the line as I was pretty sure I was gonna achieve parkrun in under 27 minutes.
Official time given as 26.27
Ow! Still hurting a bit... But can I go sub 26 this month?

Go Katnap!!!!! And by god did you go. Speeding ticket π« on its way. Seriously thatβs fantastic. I will be in just a little after you in Southampton. You will have time to stretch, to get the coffee in, read paper and then I will poodle towards finish line. πππ
