Another Parkrun Mystery PB

Up all night working the nightshift but still determined to Parkrun. Last time I did this I felt as though I was a drunken zombie. Today however I felt pretty good.

The rain held off and although the river had burst its banks in places it was still fairly dry under foot.

I plodded along quite comfortably not really knowing how fast I was going. Didn't seem like I was pushing it too hard, a little conscious of Thursdays incident, but slowly but surely I was catching up with and overtaking those infront.

Crossed the finish line totally confused - Strava recorded my time at 20.21. There's not a chance I was that fast!!!!! Turns out my GPS missed the first bit, so that makes a bit more sense. I was however still pretty nippy with a new Parkrun PB at 22.37!

How on earth I keep shaving time off an already incredible PB I will never know, but doing it after a Nightshift is an even greater mystery.

What a great start to Week 4! ⏱️🏃‍♂️👍🎉

I really hope so, but depends very much on my 3yr old having an afternoon nap. If he goes to bed, so will I, if he doesn't then I'll be inserting matchsticks in order to get through the rest of the day

Doing a night shift before parkrun obviously works for you. Hope you sleep well now. 😊👏👏

Congratulations on that amazing PB of 22.37, especially after a night shift

Many decades ago I used to do occasional night shifts, I hated them and would never think of going a cycle ride, let alone a 5K parkrun, if they had existed then, straight to bed in the morning and waking up at 12 noon thinking it was the middle of the night, once again, well done on that great time. 😊

Brilliant effort, your body must have been so exhausted it just wanted to get to the end of the run and home!
