Hi Runners!

I know I haven’t been around for a while and I wish I could say it’s due to having some writers block, but alas, it’s because I haven’t been running! 🙁

There are those unique times in life when everything aligns to the order of difficulty. I’ve been in that space. Work, relationships, a bereavement, home “improvements” turned into home nightmares. Cries for help, demands for support, trying to manage my own mini disasters, all conflicting, no room to fit it all in. The only thing I wanted to do was fly to the Bermuda Triangle. Maybe (......just maybe mind 🤨) come back when it’s all over! ........... “Overwhelm”!! 😰

But, a series of events have also got me back out today. An understanding that I can’t control much of what is going on. A re-tweet about Stan Collymore suffering from depression and making the decision to go to the gym after 2 weeks of isolation and not even taking a wash. (I don’t even like football or use the Twitter account I set up 7 years ago, so I really don’t know what made me even look last night 🤷🏽‍♀️). I thought of his courage to share such private feelings of helplessness and I replied “Unleash the power in you, you are enough”!

And it made me acknowledge, the same for myself! And the final key was it’s my brothers birthday today 😁. He would have been 53 years old. And I started running with him in mind! So guess what? I got up in those early hours of the morning and set all my kit out. Put my devices on charge and said, “That’s it....I’m alive and I’m going!” I got up this morning on a mission. Kit on... dropped my son to school and out to Lydiard Park!

Ready...ready...ready! 💪🏽 Park up the car and set up my app. Get out and who do I see? Equi-Geek! returning to her car that I just happened to park right next to 😃. We didn’t even notice each other at first. Just met up at the bumper! 😂 Now if that isn’t divine timing! I was so pleased to see a familiar face, so unexpectedly! A quick hug and I’m off with a bit of extra pep in my step. 🙂 Yes, I’m doing this!

“Every run is a win”, is something I usually say! Well today...every step was a win! Breaking through the walls and finding me, just me......again! Thank you running!! I’m so glad I found you!! 🥰🥰!

This run was epic, just because I completed it! 🙌🏽And bonus...... the sun was also shining in a very special way today!! I feel renewed.

Happy running Runners! ❤️❤️

What a wonderful post. Or should I say Fabulous?!

I’m so sorry to hear life has been throwing some hard-hitting curve balls all at once. Sometimes it’s just about survival. But look at that sun peeping through the trees... welcome back 🤗

Fabulous: well done for finding you and your running again. Life throws difficulties our way and it can be so hard. What a beautiful day to remember your brother. Mine too would have been 53 this year and I run for him as well as me 💕

Ah Molly, thank you so much! I do miss him! He’d have me laughing at all the drama! So it was a run for him today! Still going!! ❤️

Good to see you back out there. I find running helps me with life's issues, so I make myself go when I don't feel like going as I always feel better afterwards :)

Fabulous450Graduate10 in reply to MikeJones68

Thank you Mike🤗 I knew it was what I needed to do, I just couldn’t get myself to do it! 😨! But today I knew I had to. I’m still dealing with the drama’s as I type, but I can still say one thing that already went the right way today! ❤️

It was perfect at the park this morning wasn't it? Amazing co-incidence, because I'm never normally there at that time - only because the dog had a scent work lesson afterwards. It was so lovely to see you out there - looking Fabulous, of course! XX

Oh yes Flar 🦋 !!, I’m feeling the love, which is an amazing welcome back! Thank you everyone!! 🥰🥰🥰!

Fragile is a good description and that run and all the love has helped to strengthen me a bit more. It’s not all sorted yet, but it’s a very good start and finish for me today! 💪🏽

Hope you’ve been doing great too!! 😁❤️

Welcome back fab, have missed your always friendly funny posts. Onwards and upwards. Looks like a lovely place to run and the sun ☀️🌝came out for you. 🏃‍♀️😍

Fabulous450 profile image
Fabulous450Graduate10 in reply to Tinker5393

Aah thanks Tinker!! 🤗🤗! The sun certainly did come out! 😁 At one stage I thought it’s getting a bit toasty and perhaps I should be taking off the hoody, but just kept one foot in front of the other going. The acrobatics might have been a touch too much for today!! 😂 but they’ll be other times for that, I’m sure! ❤️

Glad to hear you’re back - was just thinking about you the other day! I may need a dose of your optimism in the coming weeks. You may have your struggles but despite what is happening in your life you are always a bright light in the forum. A kind of Monty Python - always look on the bright side of life!! 🤣 Hope your life calms down.

Fabulous450 profile image
Fabulous450Graduate10 in reply to Sybilw

Oh thank you so much. 🤗🤗 I had to tell myself with each new day comes a new opportunity, so what do I want to make of it?! I can either be imprisoned and unhappy or find even the smallest thing to be happy about. I knew running would have helped, I just got stuck in trying to work out how to keep everything together. More effort didn’t lead to more success. But today I’ve let it all go to just be in the moment! 🙌🏽🙏🏽

If it’s needed, I hope it finds you a bit quicker Sybilw. I’ve had to let go of some things to let life start to flow in a better direction. So here’s to even better days!! 🥂 ❤️

Aah thank you and thank you for keeping an eye while I’ve been in the mire! Most appreciated. And yes I didn’t want to share any calamities today, so charging the devices was a big part of the “I’m doing it” grit that I found in the early hours of the morning!! 🤣🤣❤️

So lovely you are back and running too 😊. Life always has a way of knocking us sideways at times but I hope today gave you just a little bit of headspace. I joked to a friend last week I was running away from my life literally.... well at least for however long my legs take me. It does help me get my balance back. Wishing you a happy runny week and take care. Hope life slows down for you. 😊

Fabulous450 profile image

Oh it did Cheeky! Thank you so much! 🤗 Slow and steady today! But with such a warm welcome back from all the runners here, it’s made everything feel much better!! I might still find it tricky to get into a routine over the next couple of weeks!! Can’t wait for the buzz to be fully loaded once again!! 😂😂 The days are getting longer and having more daylight hours to get a run in is hugely exciting for me!! 😉❤️

Great to see you back Fabulous, we’ve missed you but fully understand that sometimes life gets in the way. How brilliant that you met up with equi-geek in the car park. It was fate. A VRB turns into reality just when you need it. Hope this is a turning point for you. 🤗

Fabulous450 profile image
Fabulous450Graduate10 in reply to Dexy5

Thank you Dexy!! It’s actually a great feeling to know that I’m a runner. Whilst it was a struggle to take the time to do something for myself, it wasn’t hard to run, it was so good to be outdoors letting go with each step!! ❤️

Beachcomber66 profile image

Running, the safety valve on the pressure cooker of life! Every step makes you feel better and bit further away from the things which drag us down. It is amazing how heavy problems seem to come in clusters. I used to survive by identifying the main one (the one which blocks your thinking and makes everything else seem so much worse) and cracking that, often with help from trusted colleagues and friends, and that seemed to make the rest more manageable. Your lovely run is a great start 🌞

Fabulous450 profile image
Fabulous450Graduate10 in reply to Beachcomber66

Thank you🤗🤗! It’s so challenging when there are various personal relationships involved. You can’t help everyone at the same time, but everyone can expect you to and I have been trying to do what I’ve always done to be there to help and support. Thank you for your kind words of advice!! It’s appreciated! ❤️

The problem with being superwoman is everyone expects you to always be able to do it. If that's a role you've played you'll find you'll come in for more criticism when you're stretched thin, than thanks when you're holding the whole damn world up for multiple people. Hope the stars realign soon x

Fabulous450 profile image
Fabulous450Graduate10 in reply to BaddieThePirate

Thank you Baddie, you’re so right. 🤗🤗 I’m a very calm, cheerful and positive person, so when problems arise, I’m the go to. But tired of the multiple hand-offs! I recognise that my reserves are very limited at the moment. You just can’t give from an empty vessel and it has felt like I’m trying to hold up the whole world. The answer is simple, but difficult at the same time! But looking after myself has to be the best start! 🙂❤️
