Stopped in my tracks! πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨

Week 5 of the 10K challenge seems to be taking ages due to the terrible weather, so I was determined to go out today to do the 8K - no rain, just a bit windy. A BIT WINDY?! The second 4K was into the teeth of the gale, which literally stopped me in my tracks several times!

Arrived home looking like a windblown witch, but at least I did it.

Here's to calmer times. Happy running everyone. πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ˜€

Thanks! I would say I'm blown away at having done it, but that would be a terrible joke. πŸ˜‰

You did it! Well done. Running conditions certainly very challenging today. Pffft! Now relax. πŸ‘πŸ˜ xxx

Thank you! My time actually wasn't too bad considering - I suppose I was wind-assisted for the first 4K! But I really don't like running in the wind. Feel a bit weary but satisfied now. xxπŸ˜€

Well done, I was doing 8k today as well. I decided that the wind today was preferable to rain and wind tomorrow.

Good for you! Those were my thoughts as well. I don't mind running in the rain but you would get thoroughly soaked running 8K in those conditions. Monday looks much better weather-wise for the next run. Happy running. πŸ˜€

Hear hear JoP61! But at least you got out today, so well done! πŸ‘πŸ‘

I did a 5k after volunteering at parkrun this morning, and at one point I was leaning into the wind making next to no forward progress! Bonkers weather. Roll on spring!

Thanks! You've been busy by the sound of it. I was exactly the same - running into the wind and going nowhere. It must have looked hilarious! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

You did it! Despite the wind. Well done πŸ‘

Thanks Baddie! Talk about making it difficult for myself! I'm aiming to attempt next week's 9K on a calmer day. 🀞

I love the wind (within reason!) It energises me and makes me a bit giddy at times but it is certainly a challenge when you're running straight into it! Very well done πŸ‘πŸ˜

Hey JoJo - hope you are well and enjoying your running. I am relishing the 10K challenge at the moment. I must admit it was quite exhilarating when the wind was pushing me along during the first half of the run - unfortunately it was doing its best to bring me to a halt during the second half, when I was tiring. It must have looked very funny when I was running and going nowhere! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘πŸ˜€

I'm doing great, thank you. Just bagged the HM distance and felt just like I did back at W5R3 🀣

I was lucky with the wind I had it behind me up the worst hill and side on for a lot, although it was worse here on Friday at work and I was having to lean into it and at times wishing I weighed more again! 🀣

It can be really tiring fighting it. If you're feet are still moving you're always going somewhere!

Enjoy your 10k journey. Incredible where we've come to! πŸ’›πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ˜

Wow! You are going great guns with the HM distance in the bag - very well done! I can't imagine being able to do that. Mind you, a year ago I was on Week 4 of C25K and had convinced myself that I would never be able to run for 5 minutes. Whereas I was running for more than 50 minutes to complete the 8K. Feel fit for the first time in 20 years, and have lost 9kg (also through watching the calories). So lucky to have found C25K. What's next for you? πŸ˜€πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ€

Brilliant weight loss!! It's so much easier to watch what we eat when we have to run with the extra weight isn't it!? πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

It can be so nice to be out for longer durations when time allows. You're well on your way now. πŸ‘πŸ˜

I'm not sure really. I'm just getting lots of runs in. I wanted to make that HM distance but not really sure where I'm headed from here. I did a lot of miles in Jan so was going to take it a bit easier for Feb. I'm making sure I listen to my body. Just loving being fit though and feeling so good. I'm the lightest I've been since my 20s 😁

You're so right - I'm very glad I don't have to haul that 9kg around with me when I'm running. It's like carrying 6-7 bags of flour - which sounds crazy!

I am enjoying the longer distances, somewhat to my surprise, and think they actually suit me better than short runs.

Sonds like you are on top form - enjoy all the running. πŸ‘πŸ˜€
