Can I ask you a question? In your opinion, what is the best tracking device to tell you your time and distance run? I've tried two Apps so far and neither seem very accurate. π³

GPS watch, Garmin are very popular. The Garmin forerunner 25 watch seems to be in vogue, seen it mentioned a fair bit lately...

My wife has a Garmin fr10 and says it's fine, but it's not seen much for sale now and price is variable..

I used RUNKEEPER on my phone for a long time - however I could see from the map track that the GPS positions could be all over the place - I did think and still do that "average pace" callouts the App provided were close enough to the paces that I was supposed to be running for different training runs on different days. However RUNKEEPER did not provide me with what I wanted for HR training so I finally bought a Gramin FR220. It has been brilliant - BUT I did realise to my chagrin at the time during a big half marathon race, that even it was slightly inaccurate - but just enough that over the total length of the 21.1 klms, it over- calculated my distance by 250 metres - which I then had to make up over the last 3K of the race after I realised that this was going to affect my achievement of my goal time.!!!

Like some of the others I have the Gfr 10, it's got all that I need. I don't need to know my heart rate when I run as that would be truly scary!

You won't go wrong with a Garmin. or a TomTom or any other sportswatch for that matter. they're much better than a phone app, but they're not perfect. GPS is not perfect, and having a tiny aereal in a watch on a moving wrist, possibly running in the shadow of buildings or trees, is never going to give a "perfect" result. But while not perfect, it's more than good enough 99% of the time.
Strava has a free and paid version. I use the free. Here's a look at what you get for free:

I love my watch, a TomTom + Cardio + Music. I've got the second edition Runner/Spark (they're the same) but there is a third edition Runner out, which directs you home if you get lost!
Do the Garmins play MP3s to Bluetooth headphones?
