Me and my reduced winter timetable - got some sun today!

Well, I've been struggling between (still!!) achey foot and a natural aversion to the cold, so I haven't been out since my parkrun 2 weeks ago. But, my c25k friend was looking for company, the day was beautiful, so off we went. The ground was a track designed for mobility carts, so it's pretty good to run on normally. A bit trickier today, because last week's snow had turned to mud and then frozen. Luckily, although the sun was on it, it was still frozen when we ran. We just had to avoid those icy puddles.

I jogged alongside until she got to the walking section, then I carried on running and turned around and joined her again on the way back. Lots of lovely views across the valley through the trees. Weekday walkers nodded cheery hellos (not always the case, the sun has cheered everybody up!)

Nice little 3.7k, in 26 minutes, so not breaking any records, but we made it out and back in one piece, and it really lifted the spirits. The hot chocolate at the end may have helped :)

Would have loved to add a photo, but computer says no :(

Sorry,

Couchpotato2 no photo, but thanks for the company.

mobility carts may be able to go there but as I found out, it doesn't mean it's flat... the just that the ground is (theoretically). Unless they've been at it again and wheeled it in just for me...

Gotta watch out for them bringing in the hills overnight... I’m gonna camp on my long run courses in the summer and I’m a light sleeper... they won’t sneak one past me 😂

That sounds very wise! ;-)

Great run... lifting the spirts beats breaking records any day of the week. We won’t miss the ice snow and mud, but soon after it’s gone it will be too damn hot to run and the ground will be baked hard... we can’t win, but then we do with every step of every run,

I think there might be a window of, say, ten minutes or so, when the ground will be just right 🤣🤣

Thanks Jonathan, I'm nursing it along, while waiting to see the GP again. Apparently I'm not making it any worse by running on it. So I just nip out there when I can, I'm delighted that I can leave long gaps between runs and still manage them. Roll on spring! 😁
