Into a new year, got clear of head colds and stuff.
Running routine restored and Xmas lbs discarded.
Restored some fitness and eye on the prize again.
Going forward with 2 hours minimum per day and 3 hours on a Friday.
One hour gym strength and one hour road run each day with an extra hour at green gym once per week.
So 15 hours per week.
I am going to finally lose this 8-10 kg pot.I am going to get consistently into the 7-8 min/km pace.I am going to reignite these mitochondria little blighters and get my VO2 max into elite levels.I am going to get clued up in GAS, general adaptive syndrome, and super compensation theory.
I just believe with so many others that our amazing bodies will respond and adapt to our demands and continue to anticipate further demands to a new level.
I am going to continue to run the lbs off outside and then refocus on sprinting.Meantime I have introduced a plyometric HITT jumping gym sessions that also stimulates mitochondria.( these explosive little blighters in our muscles).
No time to be inactive physically or mentally. My head is just running and pleased to say so are my legs trotting with dreams of running opportunities and potential performance improvements.
If it does not happen for me, it is still a win, win.I get to experience the joy of trotting and what is not to like.
Just love this forum, a theatre of support and awe inspiring stuff.I can say it has given me a belief and support that I can improve year on year.
Atb to everyone with your 2019 plans, goals and running dreams.
I had just sprinted 120m in the gear I arrived in.
Re-energised.ππand all sweaty.ππ
You have responsibilities and still manage to do so much more.I have none.
I am trying to catch up with you.π€ππ
We have a lady triathlete joining the green gym. Not sure I could handle the swim and outside as you did recently. Not interested in the bike.Want to kiss the ground.
Love the task master quote at your spinning session.π€.That is fabulous and you can stop dreaming.π€π
Because of this forum and people like you I am not going to fade out,π€burn out is the way to go.πππ
This forum has given me the belief I can dream and be a better 76 year old than present, etc.
Do not know what I have been doing with my life.π€
Itβs past time to reach for the stars.

Keep bringing your stuff and leading the charge Ju.
You and the admin team on this forum are so special.
It is truly contagious.
I have said many times Jan, I cannot believe the discovery and gift of this forum and the gift of running.
Wow, just Brillant. Both are held together by its golden thread and both individually and also together are truly life giving.Even if I could not trot I would cherish reading runners journeys and stories on this forum.
Wow - thatβs quite a list of goals, Bob, but with your determination and enthusiasm Iβm sure youβll reach all of them! πβ€οΈβ€οΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈHope Iβm as active and full of life at 76! πβ€οΈ
I will never run a sub 20 and 24 min 5k like you both.Wow and wow.βοΈβοΈ
But I am determined to find that missing ipedal and keep being the best trotter I can be through the support and inspiration from this magic forum.
Not quite clocked that number yet Melinda, but starting to believe with the help of this forum that indeed that is all that it is.πStarting to believe that everything may be possibleπ
I am as mad as a March Hare and it is not even March.πππ
Atb to you both.π₯πββοΈπββοΈπ₯βοΈβοΈππ
Crikey - Iβll never do sub 24 mins Bob - I just scraped sub 27, but doubt Iβll get much quicker now! OH is in a different speed league to me altogether! ππ After doing his sub 20 min Parkrun yesterday, he ran his first HM distance in 1hr45 this morning!! π³β€οΈ
I donβt think youβre at all mad. Age is just a number, and we can all aim to be the very best version of ourselves. πβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Fantastic, inspirational stuff, Bob! My goal is first to reach your age and then still be as motivated about my fitness as you are. My ambition is to be one of the lean, wizened oldies in a marathon who runs at a steady pace and surprises the younger runners by passing them before the finish!
Wow! Tbae what an inspiring post and an amazing list of tasks you have set yourself. I have no doubt your determination will see you achieve all you set out to do. π
The extra round the middle for me is a problem too and my New Year resolution was to run longer distances and hopefully resemble less the beach ball on legs I have become, might have to up my game now after reading your post. π€
A very comprehensive plan Tbae! Your posts always strike me as being very calm. All the best for achieving your goals - personally speaking I had to go the diet route as well as exercise to shift the 'tummy fat' π
