When I first took up trotting almost a year now I would not have believed that itβs my little brain that is doing the galloping and my legs are doing the trotting.Sensible legs.ππ
Fuelled by leads and support on here I have a passion as a non medic not just to simply enjoy the joy of trotting but to understand how stuff works and what supports continuous improvement. It is possibly more than a passion now, it is an obession.π
Heaven help anyone who shares this passion/obsession, we are all uniquely different and have different needs and nobody is the custodian of all good ideas.
I very much respect both the people and guide rules in this field and of tried and tested programmes which gets you through and off to a good start.
After that it is a case of practising the basics to keep you injury free and making sure you have good recovery.
That established, your own body guides you.Ironically we have to sensibly and continuously demand more, to initiate strengthing of our running bodies.
Through the general adaption syndrome, super compensation, sprinting, plyometric,HITT, and the list is in-exhaustible.
I am pleased I managed to embark on a personal voyage of discovery sensibly that were outwith guide rules and certain norms.
Continuous daily trotting, both once and twice daily, sprint intervals daily, strength sessions daily,Plyometric HITT jumping sessions daily, I would have not experienced that if I had been too cautious. For me a slow trotter I am finding how far I can push and limits are very generous.
I am as mad as a March hare and it is not even March yet. ππ
This forum just keeps giving and there are no limits.
Keep safe and enjoy pursuing your goals.

This type of addiction is good so don't worry. My addiction for all things exercise related had me drawing up a plan to convert one of our bedrooms into a gym. But then my husband reminded me we actually needed the room for a bedroom when people come to stay βΉοΈ He's so understanding...... π
Great stuff Tbae.. so much to find out about every bit of this running and everything attached to it.....and it is never ending.
I was playing with tempo and pace today, slow running uphill and feeling what was happening to my body... and having got off track a bit...I discovered, also, a hidden pond in the process! Amazing!!!
As Aristotle said...
"Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom..."
Or in my case today... maybe Thoreau was right...
"Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves..."
