I don't socialise in the evening, I don't drink and I don't host. Not because I'm am anti social grump but because I have a brain injury thst means I have to massively prioritise stuff to stop fatigue setting in.
This weekend coincided with my mum going on a cruise over Christmas so we had entire family round for mum's early Christmas Friday night and I have a friend who lives in Kenya who comes over twice a year so she and others appeared 8am Saturday morning for the rest of the weekend. Basically a bloody busy weekend .
Cut to Sunday afternoon and as everyone had left I decided to go on a 7 mile run. Haha haha. How funny am I??
AFTER mile 5 I have up and went home. Every step was like runn ing through treacle, everything ached and went I started to get a twinge in my ankle that but increasingly worse , that's when I decided to give up.
I was so cross with myself . I've got my first 10 mile event in 10 days and dudnt need a rubbish run ! Its good that i atxkeazr know why.
I think its important to realise that looking after yourself generally in terms of sleep diet etc is crucial to runn ing. The one time I really don't and OMG it showed .
On the plus side I got my 500km during that crappy run.
