W5R1 with 300 Santas

Well, they said it was a 5k, so seemed like a good way to start week 5. Turned out to be 5.5, but hey, what’s 500m between friends. For the last 2 or 3 years, I’d thought the Santa Run would be good fun, but never did it because I couldn’t run. What a difference a year makes. Finished it in 39.25, had fun and got my first ever bling. Yay!

Thanks Cheeky. It did get a bit warm but they are actually thinner than they look - and I did have a little extra ventilation having bent down a little too enthusiastically to tie my laces😲

We had a lot of Santas at parkrun yesterday because one of the local running clubs decided to do that rather than pay for an ‘official’ Santa run!

Well done Sandie, what a jolly band of Santas you are. I bet you didn’t wear those beards for running though. UpTheStanley says he can’t breathe with his on. I need to make a few alterations to his trousers too. Only 7 sleeps until we do ours- can’t wait. I’m like a kid really. 🎅🏻🤶

The beard lasted about 2 minutes. It was very tickly and blew up into my face so off it came! It was fun, you’ll enjoy it 🤶🏻🏃‍♀️

I’ve got the Mrs Santa dress so at least I can wear leggings. It is tighter than the Santa jackets though. 🤶🎅🏻

🤣🤣 Still, I don’t think his tickled as much as mine did! Mind you, all I saw was the back of him, as he’s a marathon runner and did this little jog in about 20 minutes! Known each other since school - 41 years 😫😫

Yes, they have also been our skiing buddies for the last 25 years. We started out with 5 of us, increased to 9 as the families grew and are now back to 4 empty nesters as all kids have flown 😥
