So today I started Bridge to 10K using the Bridge to 10K app. I found it just wasn’t the same as the c25k app and was a little disappointed. I didn’t feel personally pushed and supported as with c25k. It was so regimental and no British accent in sight!! Am I using the wrong one? Could I please have suggestions for a good, English B210k app? On the plus side. I completed the run, but can honestly say that this was the first time through the whole of the program that my legs actually hurt at the end of it. It was a good feeling though.

Hello SarahBrown, it looks like you only graduated c25k this week. The advice from our lovely mentors is that it’s best for your body to consolidate your 30 minute runs for about 3 weeks before increasing your distance. It is the chance to vary runs by trying new routes and including hills or doing intervals.

I didn’t use an app to get to 10k, but followed juju’s magic plan, which you can find in the pinned posts. It’s more flexible than an app and doesn’t go back to walking during your runs like some apps do. You will find lots of support and advice on this forum, just like the c25k.

Happy running 🏃‍♀️

Everything Dexy5 said.

There’s no rush, in fact it’ll benefit you greatly to consolidate and keep building muscle strength in your core and legs.

Enjoy your journey. 🏃‍♀️👍

Thank you for your advice. I am going to try the Couch to 5k stepping stone podcast tonight.

Good idea. I did a few weeks of the ‘speed’ podcasts mixed in with some 5ks and kept things interesting while consolidating. Warning- intervals are hard! Enjoy your new life as a runner.

Thank you. Enjoyed tonight’s podcast. It made a change and as you say it keeps things interesting. Different music to what I normally listen to. Managed the different speeds also, so all in all a good run.
