Hi everyone, hope you're all ok and enjoying your running...today's weather has been just perfect....but it was rest day for me, i was so tempted to go out in the sunshine though!!
So, when I started this year's running I thought about doing RED January (Run Every Day January) but I've decided to have another go at ju-ju- 's 10k plan...I started just before summer last year and got up to 9k but I was on the IC after a fall from my littlests cabin bed ladders...so had to abandon it...then I just lost my motivation to aim higher...but now I've decided it's time. I was going to keep it to myself and just plod along but I figured that i need the support and inspiration from my lovely family on here to keep me going! So fingers crossed that this time will be a success...I like running in the cold, wind and rain (!!! Strange I know!!) So at least I haven't the weather to contend with until the ice and snow arrives!!!!
I did run 1 yesterday eve and thoroughly enjoyed it so onwards and upwards...I've got my 'Yorkshire grit' head on so watch this space....happy running everyone xxx xxx

Happy running - just make sure the grit is in your head and not your running shoes, otherwise you’ll be on the IC in no time and we don’t want that at all.
Happy running, I’m thinking of a pootle tomorrow and will take your grit with me
Great-totally behind you Mummycav - I was going to start JuJu's plan now too, but have done something to muscle on top, back, left leg (glute?), so am just pootling on... guess if it gets worse I'll have to see someone about it... It was my rest day too, but it was GLORIOUS wasn't it! Hopefully it will be the same tomorrow... Enjoy xxx
Thanks SuzyKK ...I hope it doesn't develop into something a bit more serious for you... maybe you've pulled something?? Take it easy, gentle people sounds just the ticket...x
You walk it .... well, you know what I mean! You will be back up to 10k in no time. I found that I felt much stronger second time around; I got up to 9k, caught a rotten virus and had to start again. It will feel much easier this time I promise!!😊😊
Oh you've given me hope!! I do feel a bit stronger this time...somethings happened to my breathing, it seems to regulate so much quicker now so that might help me on the longer runs...thanks Beachcomber66 x
I printed off the plan and stick to my fridge and that kinds helped me... As was a constant reminder! I ticked off and dated the runs. I think I need to do something like again as my mojo is getting a bit lazy! 🤔
Thanks Deals1 , I've done just that...it's firmly stuck on my fridge and I'm going to tick and comment every run...it's good to have a plan sometimes, especially when you're not quite feeling it...I sometimes go back to C25k just for a bit of structure x
Always a good idea to get it in black and white and in the public domain - makes backtracking so much harder, and so much less likely too. Good luck and enjoy. It's a plan that is good for repeating many times I've found
Go..go...go...Jo's plan is amazing..I have repeated it three times..because it is fabulous..you will do this..because you are YOU!!! And You are Fabulous !!!
As, thank you Oldfloss ...I love your faith in me and your enthusiasm...your joy of running just flows from every post you wrote and every comment you make...thank you..I really want to do this xx
Yey!! Thanks lexi6 ...can't believe all this support!!! X
Yay, so good to have you and your lovely mojo back Mummycav ! I can't wait for more updates from you I love your determination, you've had so many chances to give up, but you just keep going. I think you're amazing!!
Aw, thanks Hidden ...it's everyone on here that keeps me going!! It's just fabulous everyone's support...what would I do without you all?! You're journey has been amazing too...what you've overcome, now look at you, you're a well established runner Neil and one to look up to x
Go for it! I've left Ju-Ju's plan on the fridge from the summer and have been trying to retreat the last few weeks but might start back to week 1 again when my ankles are more stable. Glad you're up and running with a purpose! 👏🙂
Thanks slinky-malinki , i think sometimes we need a goal...it's ok not to have one but 5k was my goal for so long, now, since the return of my mojo, i feel ready for another challenge because I seemed to be just plodding...with no real aim, maybe my mojo just got bored?! Take it easy on that ankle and once it's feeling stronger, it'd be great to have your company x
Thanks. The ankle is feeling more stable but felt cold all day at work and totally bottled out of a short run when I got back in the warm at 5pm! I'd love to join you all back on the 10k route!
Yesss MC! 👊 10k will be yours this time round. You’ll absolutely smash the runs and we’re looking forward to hearing all about them. 😀🏃♀️
I’m joining the plan again too. I shaved more than 5 minutes off my first ‘solo’ 10k with the Magic 10, and I’m hoping to shave more off this time too.
Brilliant cheekychipmunks , i will def be posting about my runs, I'm so excited!!! It'll be great to have your company...all for one and one for all!! 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️💪💪🏆
Yey, well done for getting on there Beth...whether you're running or walking just being outdoors when you can is fantastic...and good for your soul...and head space! Hope all's well with you lovely xxx
I am so pleased you are doing the programme again Bev, not least because you were so very close last time, and if it wasn't for the falling incident, you would have got there no problem! I am sure you will find it easier this time, you know the drill. Eaaaaasssssee into those lovely long runs, my dear, you will love it all over again! Cheering you on as always.
Thank you Sadie-runs ....I know i wasn't far off last time, i can't actually believe I got so close...but I can and WILL do it again....I hear you cheering xxxx
Yay! Bevlar! I have every faith in you! As for falling off step ladders, I fell from only three or four rungs up on the steps to our loft bedroom in Oxford, when I had heat stroke about six years ago. Something tore, I was in pain for months and still can’t kneel fully, which rules out loads of yoga positions (among other things). Yes, why didn’t I get it looked at!
But to get back to you, I said it weeks back and I’ll say it again: it’s well within your capabilities to run 10k - and further xxx
As Hidden ...you should've got it looked at deffo...but at least it doesn't hamper your running, you're runs always inspire me to get out...hopefully, this time that 10k will be mine!! I've loads of support on here that I'm taking out with me on every run....thankyou my lovely friend xxx
Haha I wish they inspired me to get out. It’s freezing, and a running book and a bag of crisps seem more attractive ☹️
You inspire me too. I love your run posts- and you’ve got purple Ons 😍😍😍
