I've so enjoyed reading all the HU10 posts, bit sad I wasn't joining in this year but maybe next year ๐.well done everyone running and our amazing admin team for organising.I'm collecting keys for my new home on Friday, as you can imagine I'm feeling somewhat twitchy at the moment. I've had a really nasty bug that lingered......and lingered some more......but I seem to have finally kicked it out. It's left me with very little energy and what I have is being used up with packing!!!
My new home parkrun will be Gorleston Cliffs.....just down the road from the famously tough Great Yarmouth.....I'm sure after a few months running on a sandy beach I will give that one a go.
I have a long drive and not committing to parkrun Saturday but hoping to go along to see exactly where it goes, so I can run the course during the week once settled, it does look lovely if like me you like running by the sea.
I'm going to miss the rolling green hills of the South Downs but intend to be back for visits, I'll still have some family and friends this way.
Enjoy whatever you do, run, rest or eat cake ๐
Here's a photo of my nearest part of the beach, there are 3 paths that go end to end, I think a couple of miles long with short sharp slopes from level to level,

That looks like a lovely place to run - I can almost smell the sea breeze! You must be exhausted with all the packing - itโs a huge task moving house, isnโt it? Itโs a shame you are getting over a bug as well since you need all the energy you can get at the moment. Well it will be wonderful when you are all unpacked and sorted. Itโs a new chapter, with new routes, new park runโฆ.. I hope youโll be very happy in your new home. ๐พ๐ฅ
Such a shame youโve had this bug and itโs taken seemingly ages for you to feel better.
I canโt believe how quickly this has come round - and now in 2 days you pick up the keys. Yes, exciting and scary at the same time. A new chapter. Canโt wait to come and see you there!
That road looks so inviting for a run! Imagine running there on a gorgeous day with the smell of the sea beside you ๐ฅฐ
Good luck with the move Sue and take lots of time out just to enjoy your new surroundings and relish in the change. If you're anything like me when we moved, I kept finding things at the bottom of boxes that I forgot I had, โooh I forgot about that. What a lovely surprise!โ ๐ฅฐxxx
Ha ha, oh the packing is such fun, I had a clear out last year but I can't believe what I've got left, I've finally thrown out the last of Willows clothes, apart from a couple of jumpers that I might wear xxx
Hope your move goes really well & that you are happy in your new home.
I've had some sort of lurgy too and it has severely curtailed my last three runs and now stopped me altogether. Think I just need a break for a while, but it's always frustrating not to be able to run!
Sorry to hear about your bug SAR; itโs not what you need when youโre trying to get packed up and move . But I hope it all goes OK and that youโre soon settled into your new home. And enjoy your new parkrun home when you get to it! All the best!
Thanks, I'm doing ok, I'm picking keys up Friday and will stay a night or two, then back and forth until 7th June when my furniture goes, I'll relax once I get the keys
๐Hi Sue your new run routes sound amazing and so hoping you will settle in to your new home. Change is always scary and a bit stressful even change for the better. However knowing you itโs going to be lots of adventures! Glad you are beginning to feel better physically but these things canโt be rushed! Trust all goes well and we look forward to the fun, the adjustments and the new journey. ๐๐ค๐
A stressful time - moving home - but once you're in you'll never look back. Be happy and healthy in your new home and enjoy discovering your new running routes ๐
Can't believe you're already moving, it seems like yesterday you were telling us you'd seen something you like.Wishing you an uneventful move and a relaxing settling in ๐๐ผ
Glad to hear the bug is on its way out and youโre looking forward to the move. Hope all goes smoothly on Friday. It looks like a beautiful place to run and it will be lovely to have new routes to explore. Wishing you much joy in your new home xx
โIt's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.โ
The hobbits got it right... A new phase, a new adventure and what a glorious place to be ...sea air, family and new friendships are waiting
I wish you joy, I wish you contentment and of of course... MANY, many, many happy runs...
Oldfloss x
Always remember, wherever you are running.. there is magic in our running shoes... and as my photo states...
A ridiculously busy, stressful and exciting time for you!Hope all goes well with the move. What an amazing place to be moving to just in time for the summer! Many beautiful walks and runs waiting for you when you are fit and ready.
Oh wow! How fantastic, scary, exciting and wonderful! I've obviously missed a lot in my absence on here. Sorry you have been so poorly but happy you seem to be shaking it off at last.Good luck for Friday. I hope you will be very happy in your new home SueAppleRun
I think I said before I have so many lovely memories of childhood visits and holidays to that area. It will be an amazing place to run, but that North Sea is cold!
Thank you ,๐ yes, cold and bracing but I'll let you into a little secret ( there are heated pools nearby ๐คฃ) childhood visits and holidays are shared, there was nothing better after several hours on trains to run around on the soft sand and roll down the sand dunes before staggering up again ..
Sorry you've been under the weather but pleased you're getting over it in time for your move. What exciting times ahead running along that glorious path and elsewhere. And you'll have family nearby too. Sounds like perfection! You're going in the opposite direction from me - from the South Downs (where I live now) to East Anglia (where I was born). Enjoy, you've earned it after all you've been through!
Good luck with the move! What a change it'll be swapping the south coast for the east, but the North Sea has a beauty all its own.Hope you're feeling better by moving day, such a stressful process, you'll be fine once you're in your new home.
All the very best for your move - the new run route sounds great. I'm sure (once you are fully recovered) you will enjoy trying new routes. Happy new home day for tomorrow.
Thank you, I'm feeling equally excited and sad at the moment but looking forward to it, there are woods with trails too apparently, I'm looking forward to exploring those
Good luck today! I hope the move goes well. How exciting having a whole new area to explore and discover. A fresh start, but taking all your happy memories with you xx
Sending masses of good wishes your way SueAppleRun . Thereโs a lot of support for here and you can complete your move knowing many, many, many people are wishing you well.
I hope the new runs bring many happy new memories. Good luck with getting the keys!!!
Thatโs great news! You will sleep will tonight after all the work youโve been doing today!! And moving house definitely counts as strength training!!!
That looks lovely where youโre going. Good luck in your move, a new beginning , and hope you feel better soon. The moving part of house and packing etc can be stressful , take care x
Thanks Doris, it's been fairly stressful free so far but I'm back south in a day or two to pack up more things and return, then in 7th my furniture is moving and apart from one more trip I'll be here for good, it's lucky I like driving ๐
SueAppleRun wishing you courage, strength and discovery in each and every day. I love the area, surrounding towns and villages and the county itself. Here's to adventures ahead ๐
