Just 150 or so brave souls set out to Parkrun in Keswick today. The weather was threatening, but in the end stayed reasonably dry.
My week only had one other run, due to Storm Diana, a 3K on Tuesday, and I was not expecting anything much today, so I am quite surprised to have pushed forward the bounds of TOF endeavour to 32:22 minutes (a whole 10 seconds!!!), and 53.3% Age-weighting. 126th is my best overall position, and 78th male.
The ladies I overtook with 10 meters to go were a bit cross with me, but if I hadn't kept the sprint up I would have missed those 10 seconds.

Congratulations on another PB, if it hadn't been for those ladies in the last 10 metres you would not have achieved that best time, parkruns are not races but nevertheless many people like to get personal bests, I think today was your third week on achieving a PBπ, well done. π
Woohoo well done TOF! Youβre a speedy one! You had every right to overtake the ladies. Why not? It isnβt a race, so you finishing ahead of them should have made no difference to whether their times were PBβs or not.
I had a good parkrun today too. My 2nd fastest parkrun time and a PB (or mighty close) for my overall 5k. π
Well done on a new PB Oldfellow! ππ»ππ»ππ»ππββοΈπ₯β€οΈ
There werenβt as many takers at Birkenhead Parkrun today either, though the heavy rain ended up stopping just before the start. I was slower than normal today, but was chuffed to find my steprate was averaging 174 steps per minute - so something is increasing anyway! ππ
Congratulations to you! PBs are always worth celebrating! ππΎπ₯ππ ππ»πβοΈππ»π€ΈββοΈππ»π€ΈββοΈππ»π€ΈββοΈIn fact taking part is worth celebrating, come to that!π
Congratulations theoldfellow, you are doing brilliantly. Thatβs exactly the time my garmin said I did my last parkrun (without hills) ! Well done on that last sprint - I detect a competitive spirit coming through.
No parkrun for me today but I visited a NT property while UpTheStanley was playing hockey in Osterley and discovered that it is a Parkrun venue . What lovely grounds to run in.
