Last chance to run the Keswick Parkrun...

After this Saturday the Keswick Parkrun will be moving from it's famous (infamous) out-and-back course along the old railway line towards Threlkeld and back.

The route is the course of a foot-path, and several of the bridges over the River Greta were lost to Storm Desmond. Next week work starts on restoring the bridges, so we will be moving to nearby Fitz Park for a pan-flat multi-lap course round and round...

I shall be giving out tokens again this weekend as the old hamstring is still ham-strung.

Love and best wishes for your running,

TOF ❤👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣

I hope this is a temporary move for you theoldfellow because we’d like to do that course in the future. A pan flat park is always welcome to me but certainly not indicative of your surroundings. I hope the hamstring is improving.

If you have a VRB meet up in the lake district... I'll definitely go to that. Always looking for an excuse to go to the Lake district. I love it.

If you do decide to go, I'd recommend Crags Adventures. Craig, who takes you out, is an absolute legend, a truly lovely person. It's a brilliant way to see and experience parts of the Lake district most people don't. cragsadventures.com

I would still like to do Keswick, although as Dexy5 says, round Fitz Park doesn’t sound as picturesque as the current route. I can always find an excuse to visit the parents in Penrith for a VRB meet up though!

Sounds fun clubberlang but I’ll leave those adventures for you young ones. I still remember the time when UpTheStanley said he’d show me a bit of the Lake District as I’d never been. I had visions of walking round lake Windermere in the sun or being rowed in a boat. No, it was straight up Coniston Old Man into the mist. He must have done something right though, I married him!

I have to be at Buxton Opera House tomorrow or I’d be there. Really hoping that they go back to the original route eventually, it was on my must do list.

The plan is to go back, it'll be a few months though. Those bridges are big!

I'll post again if I get any news.

I pulled it worse yesterday. Like an idiot I was up the kitchen steps, and then stepping backwards.... ouch. But it's improved a bit today. Hope the back gets better fast!

How was it?

Good turnout?

Yes, excellent thanks. I gave out about 313 tokens. Normal for the very high season here, and we have the Keswick Convention (Christian group) starting this weekend.

I loved it, second best to running is welcoming the runners back - all sorts from 17 minutes to 52 minutes.
