During last nights run i felt a twinge in my left ankle and left calf muscle, first time I've really felt this, it is still twinging when i'm walking today, planning few days rest and see how it feels before Park Run on Saturday.

If you haven't tried or tested your niggle before parkrun, start off extra slow.

Maybe a brief brisk walk and build into a jog. You don't need to go for a PB every run! 😸

if i can still feel it niggle on Saturday morning i'm going to give the Park Run a miss or might just walk the route instead

Might be worth having a look at the nhs website for some strengthening exercises to do before you run again piglet. Don’t do them if it’s painful though.

nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/k...

These work for me Piglet. Have been doing them every day, my legs feel much better and my aches and pains (only for now I know!!) have vanished. I added in calf raises to the squats (taken from Laura's 5 week NHS plan.) Hope your issue clears up quickly.👍

Hi Piglet - i had something similar a few months ago - i think i landed on a stone wrong or something :-_ so i got one of those elastic ankle support things where you can adjust with straps. It really helped the recovery as it kept my ankle 'still' ...hoping i won't need it again but its there just in case.

Maybe worth a try just to help with general walking around

Wishing you a speedy recovery

Roll out that calf muscle.. if it does not ease.. don't run on it...Calf exercises may help too.
