Nothing like going head over heals to dent your body and your egoš¤. All mended now and luckily nothing broken but it has left me way more nervous. Anyone else struggled after a tumble as any advice welcomed?

Ouch

Sorry about your tumble running today Aspire24, just have a short break from running until any injuries you have has gone, glad that nothing serious occurred, when you do resume running, take the first few runs especially slow and steady.

Hello Aspire, sorry to hear about your fall. I know how you feel. it comes as a terrible shock when you trip and know that youāve got no control to stop yourself getting hurt. In my case I fell forward and was so worried about breaking a wrist by stopping myself that I ended up landing on my forearms and getting a deep cut on my elbow from a sharp stone and grazing forearms instead. Over a year later I still have a scar. After 2 weeks of not being allowed to run, I was desperately wanting to get out there again. I am much more wary when running on rough ground now and look ahead at the ground more often.
A few gentle jogs and Iām sure you will get your confidence back again. Just take it slowly

Ooof, that looks like it was a teal crash. I think part of the confidence thing is recognising just what triggers it- then you can talk to yourself about how to manage it. I had an enormous skid a few years ago (not running) on wet pavement and wet tarmac still makes me a bit anxious. But I now have relearned to assess when Iām actually secure and when I do need to take extra care, and Iām a lot better. Hope you feel ok again soon.
Yes I agree it does make you more nervous after falling! Mine was a few years ago now but I am still far more aware, especially in the place where I fell - on my face and forearms! Needed stitches above my eyebrow and elbow - was a bit of a mess! It didnāt put me off running though - just slowed me down a little! x
Ouch! That looks painfulā¹ļø
Of course you will be a little anxious after such a nasty fall. Try and work on your thinking. You have run x times and fallen once, so statistically what are the chances of it happening again on the next run? Good luck š
