Sore foot

Was looking forward to a new Park Run tomorrow but one foot is bothering me. It’s the side where my ankle swelled up when I got my new trainers. It’s my short leg so I have a small heel lift. My ankle stopped hurting but has always maintained one little bit that was a bit swollen under the outside sticky-out bone. My foot had been feeling like a bone that needs to move is jammed (top on inside). Now it hurts underneath and there is a taught string there. Not too painful in last run but not right and the pain moves around my foot, ankle and shin when I run.

I’ve been massaging under my foot by rolling it on a 🎾 tennis ball and have been resting (working on the laptop. I never saw working as ‘resting’ before!)

Can you just turn up and volunteer on the day, or do you have to organise before the event to volunteer? I’m hoping to run but...

Or I might just stay in bed!

Sounds like you do need to rest that foot, Baddie 🙁 I'm pretty sure you can just turn up on the day at Park Run and offer your services. When I volunteered once someone did just that and they slotted him in somewhere. Or you could just put your feet up, literally! Hope you're on the mend soon 👍💪🏃

Oh you poor love, it does sound like rest would be better.... and I’m sure if you turn up and offer help they will grab you with both hands....

I’m sure they’ll add you in gratefully as an extra volunteer, Baddie. At ours, volunteers need to get there at 8.30am, to give time to walk the marshalls into position etc...

Hope that foot feels better soon. ❤️❤️

Yes I’ve turned up on the day and they are always grateful for an extra body.

I hope you’re ankle gets better soon. Have you had professional advice?

Not yet. It was just a niggle and now it’s not. Bother!

Sorry you can't run. But volunteering is great. To be honest I prefer it to running it! I'm running tomorrow but it's hard!! Even the experienced runners say the course is challenging!

Oh dear BaddieThePirate , sounds like you need a rest? I’m sure though that volunteering at the parkrun would be welcomed whether you prewarn them or not...better than staying in bed x

I tried to have a lie in, failed but was too late to go to Park Run, got a report from my friend about how nice this Park Run is, so decided to go on a mission to by a cello! Sounds random, but it's something I've been working on for a while 😀

When you say 'short leg' is that a Long John Silver thing. His shoe was built up quite a lot.

Just like Long John Silver ("plain and pale, but intelligent and smiling", Do you think that as the plot unfolds my villainous nature might be revealed?)

His was bigger than mine though at 2.5' as opposed to a few millimetres! ☠️ But I do have a parrot
