Struggled to get out and run this week, in fact this is my first run since Sunday. I've been making excuses. So thank you Baddie the pirate for poking me with a stick. 5k done this morning in a respectable 37:55. I do enjoy running when I'm out but it getting out thats the issue.
Ive slacked off this week :-(: Struggled to... - Bridge to 10K
Ive slacked off this week :-(
Iโm about to go on my first run of the week too! Well done for getting out there ๐
Iโve covered 1 mile since Monday... will put that right tomorrow, so youโre 2.11 miles up on me!
Think with the clocks going back, its just knocked me out of sync. Dont really want to run early or when i get home st 6pm in the dark. We can do this....
Getting out is definitely the problem especially the dark and cold. Well done
Me too! Started a new job this week so my whole schedule is out of whack - really struggling to fine time to run with long days. Iโll get there though - early gym sessions seem to be my best bet. Made it out today though - phew!
Yep, I blame the clock change. I ran a cross country last Sunday and then up to last night couldn't motivate myself at all. Still I've had a good swim this morning and running with a friend tomorrow. It is hard to get home in the dark, get changed and go out for a run. This is my first winter of running so I guess I'll just have to get used to it.
My first winter too. Bit nervous about it. I read it takes 9 months to build runners legs. I'm 5 months in so thinking if I keep it up I could have those legs by the end of Feb, and in time for next spring ๐
If that's true then I'll have my runners legs by end of December. Just as well as I've signed up for my first HM next April. I've started to wear a thin long sleeve T shirt type top under a sports top for warmth, it's enough to keep you warm whilst running. Add gloves & a beanie-type hat and it's surprising how comfortable you are running in the cold. I'm dreading having to run in the rain though. One good tip I've heard for winter runs is to warm up indoors first. Watch this space!
