Last Sunday I went for a 3 hr walk. Tue I used C25K+ Stamina and did 4km. Unfortunately one of the faster parts of the run coincided with uphill. I managed it by shortening my stride but boy was it hard work. Thurs I was in Gloucester for a meeting. We drove down on Wed evening. I packed my running gear and was determined to use it. That meant a 6:30 start, I opened the window to check the weather and it was so cold I v nearly went back to bed. Managed to persuade myself not to and was dressed and out in about 15-20 mins. I forgot it would be dark at that time! Doh! Realised I’d forgotten my gloves. Actually it was great, once I’d got going I warmed up and dawn happened around me as I plodded along. Got back to the hotel, fastest shower and hair wash ever, breakfast and out the door again by 8:30. Wow, made it!
Today I did my first Parkrun as a volunteer. I really enjoyed it. That means tomorrow I need to do a run. I hope the weather is lovely again in the morning. Spring has almost sprung.... 😊👍

Wow what a week! It sounds busy, challenging and oh so lovely (my running has fallen off the rails thanks to a very extended extreme deep freeze that has blanketed most of my province; just when you see a glimmer of hope, it swoops back down into the -30's again 😭 so I feel like I'm living vicariously through all you lovely folk getting some amazing pretty runs in). I love the picture of your hill; it has me longing for my trails. I just registered for my trail race in the fall so I'm just itching for Summer to get here.
I was there in 2015, took my parents ashes to the Lake District and Stockport where I come from and had to cancel a trip (illness) in 2017 but well overdue for another visit. I have spent most of my adult life in NZ, but still yearn for “home” Fares are coming down again, so thinking about maybe August this year 🤞
Wow, what a week you’ve had, sounds like a whirlwind approach to living. Glad you’ve fitted in some runs and enjoyed them. Well done for volunteering too, parkruns rely on them to keep going.
Brilliant post Baddie! Full of motivation and determination, love it! I think I'm going to have to offer myself as a park run volunteer soon - thanks for the inspiration 😊
The Parkrun director at Marple said if everyone volunteered 3 times a year they would never struggle for marshals. It's fun to see it from a different perspective too 😀
What a busy week you’ve had Baddie! Hills eek 😱. I’m sure you are a much better runner as a result!
Well done for volunteering too, it’s great to give something back to parkrun . There are people with 200 run shirts who have never volunteered- such a shame.
