Finally managed to complete a 10k yesterday in just over an hour. Got to be honest I got very emotional later as I never thought I'd be able to run again. It has been a very long journey after getting diagnosed with a heart condition 20 yrs ago so 11 stents, quad bypass and a few heart attacks later I crossed the finish line. I'll never be able to fully articulate how grateful I am to all the people who have help me along the way and the sadness I feel when I recall the people I've shared hospital time who sadly passed away.
Apologies for going on a bit but needed to get it off my chest.

Yay well done you ... I appear to have something in my eye though. Thanks for sharing with us, such an inspiration. Puts my W9, R1 tonoght in to perspective. Thank you. x
And you, Keep-it-ticking, are a fine example of someone who is making use of all those extra years you've been given. Not just making use of them, but fully appreciating them and the people who gave them to you. Lovely post, thank you for sharing.... Oh and bloody well done 😉💪🏆
Huge well done, that is indeed a huge achievement, and you’ve had quite a journey to get here. I’m so sorry for all those that you met in hospital who have now passed away, that’s incredibly tough to deal with.
A MASSIVE well done and congratulations. Your health issues are rather close to home for my family and I so admire your continued efforts to overcome and achieve your goal. You are right about the team who keep you alive, our wonderful NHS, family & friends, but your self confidence plays such a massive part. You went for it, AWESOME. Enjoy your triumph 🏆👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🏃🏽
