Back in the game with a 10k

Hi all, haven't posted much recently or run for the last 10 days as that annoying thing called life has got in the way.

Anyhow I had some free time tonight so despite the very warm weather I set out hoping to do a decent distance.

The first 10 minutes were a nightmare, a real toxic 10 with the legs feeling like lead.

However things slowly improved and I plodded on, never able to get a decent pace but clocking up the distance and was very pleased to actually make 10k.

Hopefully I should be able to get out more regularly in the next few weeks and after saying never again last month after my first one I'm considering having another crack at a half marathon in July.

Run happy, run safe.

Excellent run ChrisAllen, considering the heat you did very well, looks like a nice route for you running.

Glad you were able to get back out there. It sucks when life gets in the way. I’ve been trying to “make” time for my runs and I feel better for it. Hopefully life settles and running can become a regular thing again for you.

Thanks, it was a tough one, just looked back and it was slower than my first 10k nearly 4 months ago but still a good distance and things should improve from here.

I wouldn't focus on the time. Sounds like you guys have quite the heat wave, you haven't run in a while and sometimes a run is just slower. The important part is you got out there and got it done 💪

Fabulous 👏 I'll take distance over speed any day. Nice to have both but stamina is for keeps 💪✊😁

I know, I have the occasional decent pace run but generally I'm all about the longer runs 😀
